Who Do You Say That I Am

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thursday of the Sixth Week of Ordinary Time

Who Do You Say That I Am

“My daughter, what I am about to say to you is not just for you. Share it with all My beloved children. Assimilate the essence of My words with the thoughts from your heart. You must shake lukewarm souls out of the indifference which drowns them. (Jesus) (April 17, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Jesus and his disciples set out
for the villages of Caesarea Philippi.
Along the way he asked his disciples,
“Who do people say that I am?”
They said in reply,
“John the Baptist, others Elijah,
still others one of the prophets.”
And he asked them,
“But who do you say that I am?”
Peter said to him in reply,
“You are the Christ.” (Mark 8)

Prayer Meditation- Lord today You ask the disciples the question that we also must answer, all of us not matter how great or small we may be. Who do we say that You are? We hope we would answer as quickly and with the same certainty at Saint Peter- You are the Christ! But what does that mean to us? Most of us grew up Christian- most of us grew up in a Christian nation. We were raised to proclaim who You are. But are we saying it with our lives. So many people are drowning in indifference, even those who are professed Christians. Let us this Lent focus on this one question- Who do we say that You are and how do we share this truth with all of Your beloved children in these times so in need of Your Light!
