Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures
Fifth Sunday of Easter
Nothing Without You
“My adored Jesus, how silent You are in my soul. I have only a one-way conversation with You. You know that I am weak and sinful. Without You, I am a miserable nothing. I live by the grace of abandonment to You.” (Elizabeth) (January 4, 1963)
Today’s Readings: I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing. (John 15)
Prayer Meditation- Lord Jesus- You are the true Vine- we are but branches. We can do nothing on our own. You care for us by pruning us so that we can bear fruit- the fruits of The Spirit (Galatians 5). Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control- how is that going for us- is that the fruit others see when they see us? Do we need pruning? Lord, the key is to remember that of ourselves we are nothing- Lord give us the grace of abandonment to You because it is only Your tender care of our souls that will produce the fruit You are planting in due season (Galatians 6:9).
