Finishing Our Course

“Don’t forget, your principal missionary work will always be your own family. I could not entrust you with that before, because I did not want you to stop halfway. Your family is the point of departure for your mission. This work is not yet finished. Be interested principally in priestly vocations.” (Jesus) (August 28, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Yet I consider life of no importance to me, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to bear witness to the Gospel of God’s grace. (Acts 20)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we get so many messages in the world about what our lives are all about- about health, beauty, fitness, and success. These are not all bad but they are not

the purpose of our lives and they can become just so many idols. Lord, You have given all of us a vocation and a course to follow- for most of us in the world it is to love You, love our families, and offer all of our works, joys, prayers, works and sufferings for Your Glory! May we offer all of our daily duties of our state in life to You for the conversion of the world- let us finish our course because the work of love is never finished!
