Dying
to Rise Again
“Your inner martyrdom is
my will and Satan cannot stop it. This inner battle brings forth
great fruit, just as external martyrdom does. You must never be
half- hearted.” (Jesus) (August 7, 1962)
Today’s
Readings: Amen, amen, I say to you,
unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies,
it remains just a grain of wheat;
but if it dies, it produces much fruit. (John 12)
Prayer Meditation: Lord, how often we want to hold onto attachments in our life even as we say we want to totally surrender to You. In life there is always an inner battle between our wants and desires and Your Will for us- a thorn in our flesh that reminds us (2 Corinthians 12) how much we need You if we are to pick up our crosses and follow You (Matthew 16:24). Lord, please help us to see what we are holding onto, what needs to die, so that You can produce the fruits of The Spirit in us! Let us never be half- hearted as we follow You Jesus during the remainder of Lent as we return love for The Love that never lets us go!
