Blessed Are Those Who Have Not Seen

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Feast of Saint Thomas, Apostle

Blessed Are Those Who Have Not Seen

“Even now, adorable Jesus, I cannot grasp this miracle.’ (Elizabeth) (April 9, 1966)

Today’s Readings: Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you come to believe because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.” (John 20)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, if we are honest, we will admit we,even we who call ourselves faithful, have had our moments of doubt when it is hard to believe. It could be moments of grief or it could just be the weariness of life or fear as we get older. Lord, You do not turn away from us in those moments. Just as with St. Thomas You come to us and You admonish us to not be unbelieving but to believe. Lord, help us to know that we know that we know that You are there whether we “see” You or not! There is much we will not grasp this side of Heaven but may we be those who have not seen and have believed even when it is dark and difficult.

Paralyzed No More

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thursday of the Thirteenth Week of Ordinary Time

Paralyzed No More

I am the sole Donor of blood in the whole world. Permeate yourself with My love, My almighty
love. Meditate on that now in the light of My holy brightness. Can’t you feel this Precious
Blood? My Precious Blood warms up and sets into motion the frozen, paralyzed energy of your
souls.” (Jesus) (January 16, 1964)

Today’s Reading: Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’
or to say, ‘Rise and walk’?
But that you may know that the Son of Man
has authority on earth to forgive sins”–
he then said to the paralytic,
“Rise, pick up your stretcher, and go home.” (Matthew 9)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we thank You for Your Word today and this Gospel Reading! Lord, we are all like this man in many ways. Yes, we may all struggle with physical infirmities in our lives but that is not the true paralysis. As a rehabilitation nurse I have been blessed to know many who may be broken in body but not in spirit. But the real paralysis Lord ,is the presence of sin in our lives- that is where we need healing! Lord call us to repentance and to the Sacrament of Reconciliation so that our frozen, paralyzed souls will be warmed and healed by Your Precious Blood!

Praying for Our Country

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Wednesday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Praying for Our Country

“I grant to all the grace to see the results of their labors on behalf of my Flame of Love in each soul, in your country and in the entire world. You, who are laboring and making sacrifices for the prompt outpouring of my Flame of Love, you will see it.” (Mary) (Diary Page 286)

Today’s Readings: “Why do you recite my statutes, and profess my covenant with your mouth, Though you hate discipline and cast my words behind you?” (Psalm 50)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You know we live in a time where many just give You lip service. We say we are a Christian nation but in so many ways we are far from Your Laws. Independence does not mean license- more and more in this country it is that search for individual freedom rather than the common good that ties us up in chains just like today’s Gospel (Matthew 8). Lord how few of us are praying and making sacrifices for our families and for our nation and the world but we know if we have contrite and humble hearts You will hear us! Let us encourage each other to pray and never give up because the Immaculate Heart of Your Mother will triumph as we stand in the gap for so many who have turned away from You!

Why Are You Terrified

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Thirteenth Week in Ordinary Time

Why Are You Terrified

Jesus: “Tell Me, little sister, why do you consider yourself alone since I am the One leading you? Have no fear, I will not let go of you. Come, let us go together and let there be no other moment when you would feel alone.” (Jesus) (January 15, 1966)

Today’s Gospel: They came and woke him, saying,
“Lord, save us!  We are perishing!”
He said to them, “Why are you terrified, O you of little faith?”
Then he got up, rebuked the winds and the sea,
and there was great calm. (Matthew 8)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we all know there is much to be anxious or even terrified about these days. To the question You asked the Apostles we may feel like saying are You kidding Lord- have You seen the news? But the truth is, You not have only seen the news, You hold the future and for You being outside of time, You already know what happens. No need for You to follow some 24/7 news cycle. So really why are we so terrified- why is our faith so small when You are so big! Bigger than anything that may be happening in our world today and You are still in control! So let us have no fear- You will never let us go even when the waves, the winds, and the sea threaten to drown us. Let us have faith and trust that You will rebuke the winds and the sea even if it just in our own souls and with You there will be great calm always if we keep our eyes fixed on You!

Finishing The Race

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul

Finishing the Race

“Don’t forget, your principal missionary work will always be your own family. I could not entrust you with that before, because I did not want you to stop halfway. Your family is the point of departure for your mission. This work is not yet finished. Be interested principally in priestly vocations.” (Jesus) (August 28, 1962 )

Today’s Readings: I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. From now on the crown of righteousness awaits me, which the Lord, the just judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me, but to all who have longed for his appearance. (2 Timothy 4)

Prayer Meditation- Lord today as we celebrate the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, we are reminded that no matter how much time we may have, our work is not yet finished! You do not want us to stop halfway- You have placed us in families, in workplaces, in communities- many mission fields without leaving home! Lord help us at the end of our time on Earth to pray with St. Paul and state that we have competed well and let us pray with St. Peter that You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God (Matthew 16) as You welcome us home!

Just A Cup Of Water

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Just A Cup Of Water

Accept with humility his words which are also from Me. Let your fervent desire to share in My work of Salvation continue to burn in your soul with great humility. You will not lose your reward, everlasting happiness. Just serve Me with all your strength.” (Jesus) (August 28, 1962)

Today’s Readings: And whoever gives only a cup of cold water
to one of these little ones to drink
because the little one is a disciple—
amen, I say to you, he will surely not lose his reward.” (Matthew 10)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today the Gospel from Matthew  and the Epistle from Romans are about dying to ourselves so that we will rise with You. About our priorities- You first then family because we can only really love them perfectly with Your love. About carrying our crosses and following You. Lord we want to be all in but sometimes we lose our way about what that really means and what that looks like. We may well feel that we are failing in sharing in Your work of salvation in our everyday lives as the world seems to be moving further and further away from Your truth. But You tell us something interesting- that even if we give a cup of cold water to someone in need- in other words the little acts of kindness done with great love, we will not lose our reward. Because as much as we may want to do big things to turn the ship of our world around, it is You who are still on the throne and still in control! You want us to share with You our desire and love for souls- pure intentions not great works! And You tell us to serve You with all of our strength no matter how weak we may be because You turn every act of love into an ocean of Mercy for the whole world when united to Your Saving Cross!

But I am Not Worthy, Lord!

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Saturday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time

But I am Not Worthy, Lord!

“O Lord, the family discord is so great that only a miracle will help.” Jesus asked, “Cannot I work a miracle?” “But I am not worthy, Lord.” “Nevertheless, I will work a miracle. I will so bless the problem which seems impossible that all will be straightened out.” (Jesus/Elizabeth) (Diary Page 62)

Today’s Readings: The centurion said in reply, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof; only say the word and my servant will be healed. (Matthew 8)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we forget sometimes how eager You are to help us, to cure us, to solve our problems! We think it is impossible- we know we are unworthy! Let us Lord ,like the centurion, state with bold faith that we know that You have the authority to turn any situation around if it be Your Will! Lord Jesus we praise You today and we love You and through the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary we bring You all of our problems and concerns with lively faith and trust!

You Can Make Me Clean

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time

You Can Make Me Clean

Jesus: “You see, such is the soul that recollects before My altar but which, for years, has not kept itself clean. It does not look within, it comes into My presence out of habit. It also comes before Me with a layer of dust as thick as a finger on its soul.” (Jesus) (December 22, 1963)

Today’s Readings: When Jesus came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him.
And then a leper approached, did him homage, and said,
“Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean.”
He stretched out his hand, touched him, and said,
“I will do it.  Be made clean.” (Matthew 8)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, I have always found this healing in today’s Gospel so touching. The humility of the leper who comes with trust and confidence in his absolute poverty and Your beautiful answer- You will us to be clean- to be healed and to be whole. I think that is an easy thing to forget sometimes in our everyday lives. And perhaps it is that we come to You maybe in Adoration or at Mass out of habit and maybe we don’t even notice the build -up of dust in our souls from which You very much want us to be delivered. Lord, especially in these times it is time to look within- to ask You what needs to be cleaned-up in our souls and to come to You with humble trust confident that it is Your Will for us to be cleaned and healed in this life. This is the abundant life You have promised each one of us (John 10:10).

Solid Rock

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thursday of the Twelfth Week of Ordinary Time

Solid Rock

“My daughter, after a period of relief, do not be surprised if sufferings again flood your soul. You are experiencing the temptations of the Evil One. Do not worry. I am with you and I act within you.” (Jesus)(September 24, 1964)

Today’s Readings:

“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them
will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.
The rain fell, the floods came,
and the winds blew and buffeted the house.
But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. (Matthew 7)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord, the floods come into our lives- the water rises and the wind howls! Trials, temptations, sufferings, sickness and everything else our broken world can throw at us! Yet Lord we have Your Word and Your Promises- we will not be shaken! On Christ the solid rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand!

Light To The Nations

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Solemnity of the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist

Light to the Nations

“After your death, my little one, your place will be next to me. Your drops of oil gathered on earth – which by your lifetime of sacrifices, my Divine Son united with His merits – will fall back upon the extinguished lamps of the souls and will ignite them by my Flame of Love. By this light, they will find the way that leads to salvation.” (Mary) (May 30, 1965)

Today’s Readings: It is too little, he says, for you to be my servant, to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and restore the survivors of Israel; I will make you a light to the nations, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.(Isaiah 49)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord we thank You today for the nativity of John the Baptist, the messenger who bore witness to the Word Made Flesh full of grace and truth! (John 1) Today You call us to be messengers to the way that leads to salvation- Lord help us to unite our sacrifices to Your merits so that souls will be ignited with Your Flame of Love even after we have left this earth!

The Little Narrow Way

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time

The Little Narrow Way

Simply abandon yourself to Me. The way to the Golgotha was covered with obstacles. I had to cut a way for myself with great difficulty. (Jesus) (February 4, 1963)

Today’s Readings: “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.” (Mathew 7)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You ask us to not only enter the narrow gate but to stay on the narrow road. Why does it seem like we are always veering to the right and to the left? (Isaiah 30:21). Lord how do we stay on this narrow constricted road? Lord I believe You are telling us that the key is abandonment to Your Divine Providence- the little way of Saints like Therese and Faustina who trusted in You although they could not see the way ahead. Lord, we want to cut down all the obstacles ourselves but the truth is You have already done it for us! Help us walk in the path You have prepared for us with our feet journeying together and our hands gathered in unity!

Stop Judging- Start Praying!

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Monday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time

Stop Judging- Start Praying!

By the effect of grace of my Flame of Love, you have gained, my Carmelite daughter, that God has come down to you and that the fire of charity burning for His work of Redemption greatly consumes your soul. To possess this is a very great privilege. This is why your heart should be permeated with a deep humility.” (Mary) (July 24, 1965)

Today’s Readings: Jesus said to his disciples: “Stop judging, that you may not be judged. For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.(Matthew 7)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, there is so much division these days even in families, sometimes it seem especially in families. We all judge and put each other in categories- left, right, conservative, liberal not only politically but in the Church. And then we yell at each other don’t judge me- it has truly gotten out of hand and the only one winning is Satan. Lord, the time for talking heads and yelling is over! Lord You have given us a two- fold antidote for these evil times- Divine Mercy and the Flame of Love! You demand deeds of mercy as You have told St. Faustina! And You are pleading for us in these times not to look to earthly solutions but to the Immaculate Heart of May and to prayer, sacrifice, and repentance for those we love and for those who need You in their lives! Let us together Lord blind Satan with the loving prayers and sacrifices of the Flame of Love Grace! Let it be our way of life in these times to save souls because we love!

Every Hair Counted

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Every Hair Counted

“Try to serve Me even better. Do not forget. There should not be even a hair between us. There is much to do and few laborers.” (Jesus) (October 4, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Are not two sparrows sold for a small coin? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father’s knowledge. Even all the hairs of your head are counted. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.(Matthew 10)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You send us out and You tell us not to be afraid! That You notice even the smallest sparrow, that every hair of our heads is counted! You hold our future in the Palm of Your Hand! Lord help us to go out unafraid even if “going out” means being a living witness to our families, friends and workplaces. So let there not be a hair between us Lord- help our feet to journey together with You and help our hands to gather in unity as we go out into the world and proclaim You to the housetops with our lives today!

Don’t Worry Be Happy

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Saturday of the Eleventh Week of Ordinary Time

Don’t Worry Be Happy!

“I am guiding you, and if you worry, I might get the idea you are not happy with Me.” (Jesus) (March 24, 1963 )

Today’s Readings: Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span? Why are you anxious about clothes? Learn from the way the wild flowers grow. They do not work or spin. But I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was clothed like one of them. (Matthew 6)

Prayer Meditation- Worry, fear anxiety- they rob us of our peace! And yet we cannot add a single minute to our day! A quote attributed to St. Francis de Sales who struggled with scrupulosity and anxiety says it well- God commands us to pray but He forbids you to worry! Lord, You are our peace- let us bring everything to You in prayer with praise and thanksgiving (Philippians 4). Jesus we trust in You!

Filled With Light

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Eleventh Week of Ordinary Time

Filled with Light

The Blessed Virgin revealed that the light of her Flame of Love filled not only me, but all my family members, and the Evil One could not lead them into sin. That is why their souls are strengthened and prepared to receive even more graces. (Elizabeth)( February 12, 21, and 28 1963 )

Today’s Readings: “The lamp of the body is the eye. If your eye is sound, your whole body will be filled with light; but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be in darkness. And if the light in you is darkness, how great will the darkness be.” (Matthew 6)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord ,You tell us today that the eye is the lamp of the body- Lord with what are we filling our eyes, minds, and hearts on a daily basis? Lord help us today to keep our eyes fixed on You today- let us stay connected to You today in a special way through prayer especially the Rosary, Mass if we can get there, and meditation on Sacred Scripture as we ask the Blessed Mother to fill us with Your special grace for our time, The Flame of Love! Strengthen our souls to receive You and fill us with Your Light!

Thy Kingdom Come

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thursday of the Eleventh Week of Ordinary Time

Thy Kingdom Come

Each night, My little one, ask yourself what you have done for the coming of My Kingdom. Never be content with yourself. There is no room on earth for self-satisfaction. (Jesus) (August 28, 1962)

Today’s Readings: “This is how you are to pray: ‘Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6)

Prayer Meditation- Lord we want to make prayer so complicated but it is really as simple as opening our hearts to Our Loving Father who sees our needs. Lord, we can never do enough under our own power for the coming of Your Kingdom! You want us all in- a total surrender of our hearts in prayer, our 100% Fiat to Your Divine Will! Conform us to Your Will, O Lord! Come Holy Spirit, Come by the Means of the Power of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary!

The Father Who Sees In Secret

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Wednesday of the Eleventh Week of Ordinary Time

The Father Who Sees in Secret

During my work, I frequently enter my small room to adore and make reparation to the Lord Jesus who is present. These are secrets of my heart that I reveal to you. (Elizabeth) (July 17, 1965 )

Today’s Readings: But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door,
and pray to your Father in secret.
And your Father who sees in secret will repay you. (Matthew 5)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, so many of us have been called to isolation- maybe illness, caregiving,  old age, a move to an area where no one knows us. For some it has been a wonderful opportunity to spend more time in prayer. For others, so used to be around people, it has been difficult. So many of us, even those in ministry, or especially those in ministry are used to being seen. But Lord could it be that the things we were doing really were not Your Will but done for human respect? Were we running around saying yes to everything because we did not know how to say no? You have not called us to be people pleasers- You have called us to be in greater union with You! Lord let us always cherish the opportunity we have to be in our small rooms in those seasons that can seem at first to be dark and let us continue to go there offering prayer and sacrifice for the salvation of souls so in need of Your Grace!

Forgiven

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Eleventh Week of Ordinary Time

Forgiven

“I always think of what I can give You. Once more, Lord, my Jesus, I give You my sins again and again, and the monotonous flow of tears from my heart imbued with graces. Please listen to me. This is the music of my heart and the only gift I can offer.” (Elizabeth) (April 15, 1964)

Today’s Readings: Have mercy on me, O God, in your goodness; in the greatness of your compassion wipe out my offense. Thoroughly wash me from my guilt and of my sin cleanse me. (Psalm 51)

Prayer Meditation- Lord Jesus, we thank You for Your Mercy and Compassion which are endless and inexhaustible. We thank You for Your Forgiveness freely given, a gift we cannot earn. Lord, You wait for us again and again in the tribunal of Mercy, the Confessional. Let us not ever be afraid to approach You with confidence and trust!

The Extra Smile

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

The Extra Smile

Suffer with a smile! Let no one know. Let no one see. This is a secret between the two of us. Only God grants this and I give it only to the souls who know how to endure ceaseless sufferings with a smile. (Jesus) (November 1-2 1965)

Today’s Readings: Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles. Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow (Matthew 5)

Prayer Meditation- Lord we are asked to do things all the time, so many demands on our time. It is so easy to shrink back and want to become protective of our time, talents, and treasure when so much is coming at us and we just feel exhausted. The fiat we want to give to You to glorify You in all things becomes a big no when it is our family, our co-workers, our clients who keep pulling on us. Lord help us to go not only the extra mile today but with an extra smile! Because it is in the offering of our daily duty in union with You that we pick up our crosses and follow You!

Troubled And Abandoned

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Eleventh Sunday of Ordinary Time

Troubled and Abandoned

If all is true and authentic and if it is the Will of God, why must I live with such dark and troubled torments? (Elizabeth) (Spring 1971)

Today’s Readings: At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them
because they were troubled and abandoned,
like sheep without a shepherd. (Matthew 9)

Prayer Meditation- Troubled and abandoned. Lord, many of us have felt those two things inour lives. We may be feeling that way now. But Lord, You have never abandoned us and forsaken us- in fact Your Sacred Heart is moved to pity for not only those of us who felt abandoned but also for those who are away from You during these tumultuous times- the unbelievers and those who do not yet know Your Love. Because the truth is the Fountain of Mercy is flowing more than ever in these times of Divine Mercy. That the graces of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary- the greatest grace since the Word Became Flesh is flowing to us as well and calling us and our loved ones into the Ark. So ,raise us up on eagle’s wings as your dear possession (Exodus19) because You will never abandon us or forsake us because we are Your People, the flock You tend! (Psalm 100)
