Seeking Signs

Jesus said, “I will leave you with the feeling of My presence.
In the great sufferings that I will pour out on you now, the Flame of Love of
Our Mother will give you great strength. She is the one who forces Me not to
deprive you of the feeling of My presence. Be also grateful to her for that.”
(Jesus) (December 1, 1962)

Today’s Readings: He sighed from the depth of his spirit and said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Amen, I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.” (Mark 8)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord how often, just like the Pharisees, do we demand signs and wonders because of our lack of faith and hardness of heart. Lord You do not honor such demands but instead leave us the gift of silence so that we can examine our hearts and come to You with true humility. But Lord, when our hearts are grateful and full of trust- not loving the gifts but loving the Gift Giver in all circumstances You never abandon us and as we look back at how You carry us. In all things we can see Your Mighty Hand in all of it! Thank You Jesus!

Why Do We Make It About Food?

Sunday in Ordinary Time

Why
Do We Make It About Food?

A
long time ago, the Lord had asked me to abstain from food for the pleasure it
provides, but to take it only for my body’s nourishment. (Elizabeth)
(Compendium Page 136)

Today’s Readings: Brothers and sisters, Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.(1 Corinthians 10)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, here we go- how many Lents have we given up some food or drink item, mindlessly, without even thinking of whether this is the sacrifice You are looking for? Some of us may need to give something up if it is getting in the way of Your best for us- certainty like Elizabeth, we should simplify and not just seek things just for the pleasure they provide. A little less lattes, cocktails, candy bars etc, ok, why not? We live in a consumer culture and it is right to reign it in during a penitential season.  But Lord, I believe what You are truly seeking is a humble and contrite heart (Psalm 51). What good is it to give up some food item if we are using our mouth to gossip and judge others? Are we the perfect picture of piety at Daily Mass and a miserable wreck at home? Lord help us to balance with Your Wisdom the plan of fasting, almsgiving, and prayer that lead to a closer walk with You! Lord may our feet journey together with You this Lent all the way to the Cross- let us stand with Mother Mary consoling Your Heart full of so much love for us! Lord show us how to truly rend our hearts and not our garments (Joel 2:13) this Lenten season!

Enmity

“Endure these sufferings for your family and those of the whole country. You know that Satan, foaming with rage, wants to destroy families. You are a mother of a family and you are aware of the several forms of family disintegration. (Mary) (Compendium Page 11)

Today’s Readings: I will put enmity between you and the woman ,and between your offspring and hers; He will strike at your head, while you strike at his heel.” (Genesis 3)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, how wounded we all are- infected with the sin of our first parents. Today more than ever the enemy rages against families. The final battle will be against families! (Sister Lucia). We are in the battle now but You have already given us the divine antidote in the protoevangelium of Genesis 3:15. Lord, You are the only cure for what is wrong with ourselves, our families, and our world- come Holy Spirit, come by the means of the power of the Flame of Love (Jesus) of the Immaculate Heart of Mary!

Friday of the Fifth Week in Ordinary Time

Confessing Our Faults

“Many, many times, I experienced the repentance that the Lord’s
mercy brought forth in my soul. I want to repent for my sins like no one ever
has repented until now.” She would pray, “I want to love You like no converted
sinner has ever loved You until now.” (Elizabeth) (Compendium Page 62)

Today’s Readings: Then I acknowledged my sin to you, my guilt I covered not. I said, “I confess my faults to the LORD,” and you took away the guilt of my sin. (Psalm 32)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord You have washed us in Your Blood and You offer Yourself to us every day in Your Word and Your Sacraments. O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us we trust in You! Lord help us not to hold anything back from You today because we owe You our lives- let us return love for the Love You have poured into our hearts!

Our Lady of Lourdes

Healing Rain

Our Lady said, “Offer your sorrow for his healing.” I asked the Blessed Virgin if he would be healed. She consoled me with loving words. “Yes, in a short while, but not for long.” (Mary) (July 16, 1962

Today’s Readings: Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and begged him that they might touch only the tassel on his cloak; and as many as touched it were healed.(Mark 6)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, so many people need healing. We think of the sick, maybe ourselves or loved ones, and the need for physical healing. Lord, we know You can heal anything but we also know the most important healing is spiritual healing because physical healing is temporary but healing of our souls is forever. Lord, let us come today, through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes, to You today for healing. Let us encounter You in Your Word, in prayer, and in the Sacraments!

Filled with Good Things

For a long time, He allowed me to feel His presence filled with goodness and
majesty. As an insignificant person, really less than nothing, I felt great
emotion. I could only babble: “Depart from me, O Lord, I am a great sinner.”
(Elizabeth) (August 16, 1962)

Today’s Readings: All creatures look to you to give them food in due time. v When you give it to them, they gather it; when you open your hand, they are filled with good things .(Psalm 104)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord we thank You and praise You because You always provide for our needs if we trust in You! You fill us with good things- not only for our temporal needs but You give us exactly what our souls need on a daily basis. Lord we are so unworthy of Your many gifts- let us always be filled with a spirit of gratitude and praise because You alone have done great things and Holy is Your Name!

All You Ever Wanted Was Our Hearts

Through your smallness and ignorance, and above all through your
humility, we want to put our Holy Cause into action through you. Be careful, do
not let vainglory come near.(Jesus) (August 30, 1963)

Today’s Readings: This people honors me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines human precepts.(Mark 7)

Prayer Meditation- Lord how many times do we do things, even spiritual things, our way- we let ourselves get in the way of Your Will. We think we are so wonderful because we check all these things off of our list each day even while our thoughts and hearts are a million miles away moving from one vain thought to the next! Lord, help us each day to return love for love and offer every moment of the day to You- may our hearts beat in unity with Yours today!

Today’s Readings: Then God said,
“Let there be light,” and there was light.
God saw how good the light was. (Genesis 1)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord You are Light itself- the Universe was created and Your Light appeared. O Lord, though we see as in a glass darkly now (1 Corinthians 13) we will someday see the Light in Your Eyes- those Eyes that see everything about us and that love us so much! Lord illuminate our hearts, minds, and souls to see You with the eyes of love here on this Earth so that we can live in Your Light in the next!

Fifth
Sunday of Ordinary Time

By
His Wounds We Are Healed “Never
tire of contemplating My sacred wounds, from which you will always draw
strength.” (Jesus) (March 4-7, 1962)

Today’s Readings: He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He tells the number of the stars; he calls each by name. (Psalms 147)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we thank You and praise You because You came to heal us-everywhere You went You healed and delivered those who came to You in faith including Simon Peter’s mother in law in Today’s Gospel (Mark 1)! Your endless compassion and mercy for us knows no bounds! Lord, we all have wounds, and You know us by name- You know the individual hurts that are specific to each one of us! And You went to the Cross and took it all upon Yourself so that we would truly be free- You give us strength for today and hope for tomorrow because in Your Love You held nothing back!

Come Away with Me

Jesus said, “Why do you think that I am far away, in the heights above you? Really, I am standing right now next to you.” While the Lord Jesus was talking, through these waves of special feelings, my soul experienced the Blessed Virgin with her captivating love, saying to the Lord Jesus, “She is my special one, also.” (Jesus/Mary) (April 7, 1965)

Today’s Readings: He said to them,

“Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a
while.” (Mark 6)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we all need to hear those words from You- come away
with Me! Oh Lord how we all need to rest in Your Sacred Heart! We can feel like
You are so far away and yet You are always right there next to us in every
moment of our day! My Adorable Jesus,

We ask you to take us in spirit before your

Eucharistic Presence throughout the world. Blessed Lady,

Take us and place us where we belong in the

Content With What We Have

I see that you have little faith. Why are you impatient? It is My
responsibility to give you a spiritual director. Do not fear. I will give you a
director according to My Heart. Do not fear, I will never abandon you.” (Jesus)
(August 16, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Let your life be free from love of money but be content with what you have, for he has said, I will never forsake you or abandon you. (Hebrews 13)

Prayer Meditation- Lord it is so easy to strive constantly for more- whatever is new and shiny that we think we have to have! Even spiritually- we run ahead of You looking for the big breakthrough yet where we are is where You want to sanctify us! Lord help us be content in all circumstances we find ourselves- in worry, in want, in darkness and lack of clarity, in fear and trouble! You will never forsake or abandon us!

Fourth Thursday of Ordinary Time

Two by Two

“Watch and pray. When two or three gather, they take up the battle against the Prince of Darkness and his devastating power. Do not be idle!” (Jesus) (August 7, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over unclean spirits. He instructed them to take nothing for the journey but a walking stick–no food, no sack, no money in their belts. (Mark 6)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You sent Your disciples out two by two. We are not meant to be lone wolves in our walk with You! As the Holy Spirit informs us in the book of Ecclesiastes- “And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.”(Eccl 4:12), We are stronger in prayer when we gather together! Let us not be idle in praying, particularly the Rosary, together and take up the battle against evil in our world!

Wednesday of the Fourth Week of Ordinary Time

Tough Crowd

Many people in your neighborhood have known you for years. You
have fought your great battles before their eyes. (Mary) (November 19, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and among his own kin and in his own house.” So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there, apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them. He was amazed at their lack of faith. (Mark 6)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, I think so many of us can relate to today’s Gospel. We all come from families and hometowns, people who have known us for years. They have watched us rise and fall and have formed opinions about us- they are familiar with who we are and where we have been. And then someday something changes- for many of us reading this that “something” may well be You in our lives! And as You change us our loved ones may not know what to make of us. Lord You know well the pain of being rejected by Your own family members and neighbors. Our Lady knows well what it is like to suffer these pains as well as She watched You almost run off a cliff (Luke 4:29) in the Gospel of Luke version of this story. Lord, today we pray for all of our families- that our family members would be open to Your Grace despite the fact that we hold Your Treasures in earthen vessels (2 Corinthians 4:7).

Living
Fire

On
the feast of Candlemas, my beloved sons will introduce the Flame of Love of my
heart in procession, so that, in such fashion, it becomes a living fire in
their hearts and souls. (Mary) (May 4, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you prepared in the sight of all the peoples: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel.” (Luke 2)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord on this special day when You were presented to Your Temple as the Light of the World, let us spread the Flame of Love in the hearts and souls so that Your Glory will be fully revealed on Earth! Come Holy Spirit, Come by the means of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary! Let’s spread the Flame from heart to heart today!

Show and Tell

Jesus: “Do you know why I make you write about the different events in your life? Because these are reflections of My graces in your soul that you – I know it well – would never tell others. In this manner, I oblige you to write so all will see the Divine Work that I have done in your soul since your childhood” (July 24, 1965)

Today’s Readings: “Go home to your family
and announce to them
all that the Lord in his pity has done for you.” (Mark 5)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, how can we ever repay You for Your Great Mercy towards us and how You have set us free from sin, misery and death! Lord You have given us supernatural life and have set us free from the chains that bound us! Each day through prayer, meditating on Your Word, and through the Sacraments guided by the Holy Spirit You have not left us orphans! Each day You are changing us into Your image from glory to glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18)! Lord help us to show and tell through our words and deeds all that You have done for us!

If Today Your Hear His Voice, Harden Not Your Hearts!

Fourth
Sunday in Ordinary Time

If
Today You Hear His Voice Harden Not Your Hearts

“Enter
into battle, we will be the conquerors. My Flame of Love will blind Satan to
the same extent that all of you spread it around the world. Just as the whole
world knows my name, so I want all to know that the Flame of Love of my heart
is performing miracles in the depths of the hearts.” (Mary) (Compendium Page
111)

Today’s Readings: Oh, that today you would hear his voice: “Harden not your hearts as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the desert, Where your fathers tempted me; they tested me though they had seen my works. (Psalm 95)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we know we have been saved by Your Grace but have we really been set free? Are there areas where we are struggling- habits, sins and vices from which we just cannot get free? Are there areas where we hear Your Voice whispering to us but we just don’t want to let it, whatever it is, go? Are we like the poor man in today’s Gospel who though bound by Satan, recognized You, but was afraid of what Your presence meant for him because it would mean change? (Mark 1:21-28)  Lord deliverance can be scary! And You just want us to be quiet and still so we can let You work because we can’t set ourselves free in our own power! Lord, help us to enter the battle, to allow Your Flame of Love to perform real miracles in the depths of our hearts so that whatever is still keeping us in chains will be defeated and we will walk in true freedom! Because if The Son has set us free we are free indeed! (John 8:36)

Bending In The Wind

Whoever
serve Me, My little one, cannot be a reed bending in the wind. She must
persevere firmly at My side with an unshakeable determination. (Jesus) (February
4, 1963)

Today’s Readings: He woke up,
rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Quiet! Be still!”
The wind ceased and there was great calm.
Then he asked them, “Why are you terrified?
Do you not yet have faith?” (Mark 4)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord we are so often reeds bending in the wind at the slightest puff of trouble! In the storms of life big or small we despair of Your Help even though we know You are there sleeping in our small boats! Lord give us unshakable faith and determination even when it seems we are sinking because You are always at our sides!

Sowing Seeds

If, eventually, you ask to speak and it is granted to you, may my power be with you. Let each word be like a seed planted so those listening produce an abundant harvest. (Mary) (July 26, 1971)

Today’s Readings: Jesus said to the crowds: “This is how it is with the Kingdom of God; it is as if a man were to scatter seed on the land and would sleep and rise night and day and the seed would sprout and grow, he knows not how. (Mark 4)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord, we do not know how the seed will grow or where it will take root, that is not our job. Our job is to be faithful to planting the seeds to spread Your Kingdom here on Earth. Mary’s Flame of Love will ignite many hearts!

Be A Light

Memorial of Saint Thomas Aquinas

Be A Light

This drop of oil squeezed out by your sufferings, when united to My merits, will fall on those souls who still do not have a lamp. They will be astounded and will seek its cause, and they will find the road that leads to salvation.” (Jesus) (November 10, 1962)

Today’s Gospel: Jesus said to his disciples,
“Is a lamp brought in to be placed under a bushel
basket
or under a bed,
and not to be placed on a lampstand?
For there is nothing hidden except to be made
visible;
nothing is secret except to come to light.
Anyone who has ears to hear ought to hear.
(Mark 4)

Prayer Meditation- Lord it seems like the darkness is winning. I sense discouragement all around- people are just beat down in the diabolical disorientation (Sister Lucia) that is our world today. And yet You have asked us to put our lamps on the lampstand- this is no time to retreat from being witnesses to the Gospel. There are so many souls who probably would not even know where they can find a lamp let alone how to light those lamps so that they can find their way to the narrow and  broken road that leads to You. Lord we feel crushed on all sides (2 Corinthians 4:8-10) but we cannot give into despair. Squeeze Lord every drop of oil from our sufferings united to Your merits to fall on the souls who are so lost so that they will indeed find this road that leads to salvation.

Wednesday of the Third Week of Ordinary Time

Time for Some Weed Whacking?

You know, many souls consecrated to Me have fallen on good and soil and
produced abundant fruit. Now they are dispersed. They have no greater dream
than to give themselves as fodder to animals. (Jesus) (November 23, 1962)

Today’s Readings: And some seed fell on rich soil and produced fruit. It came up and grew and yielded thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold.” He added, “Whoever has ears to hear ought to hear.” (Mark 4)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, even those of us who once produced good fruit or are even doing so now should not take for granted the need to keep our gardens pruned! So many thorns can choke Your Word in us! Lord, by Your Sacraments, especially Reconciliation and the Eucharist and faithful meditation on Your Word we can keep the gardens of our souls weed free!
