A Cheerful Giver

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Wednesday of the Eleventh Week of Ordinary Time

A Cheerful Giver

“They are bored. They live in wasteful laziness, seeking only their own comfort. They exclude Me from their lives, taking every opportunity to hide like cowards and to deceive themselves. They act as if they were not My workers. O unhappy ones, how can you give an account of your wasted time?” (Jesus) (October 4, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Brothers and sisters, consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9)

Prayer Meditation- Lord how stingy we can be, even those who feel called to work in Your Vineyard. We can get stuck in our comfort zones and find that much like the Church in Ephesus we have lost our first love (Revelations 2). We forget we are called to evangelize others through our witness of joy, peace and love. As St. Teresa of Avila exclaimed God save us from dour faced saints! Let us sow bountifully today with cheerfulness and not with sadness or compulsion. You love a cheerful giver!

His Kind of Perfect

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Eleventh Week of Ordinary Time

His Kind of Perfect

If we refer to the Flame of Love, the Lord Jesus will enlighten our intellect to know what we must do, for example, how we can choose between two things and which is the most perfect and represents the Will of God.” (Elizabeth) (July 11, 1975)

Today’s Readings: For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same? So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matthew 5)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we all try so hard to be perfect, but it is perfect the way the world defines it. Along the way it can seem that our love can grow so cold. We make idols out of so many things in our lives and along the way we lose the ability to see others the way You see them. Lord, I believe You are telling us that You want Your kind of perfect- the one that loves without counting the cost. The one that drives out all fear (1 John 4:18). The one that lives the Gospel message we have been reading from the Sermon on the Mount. Lord, it is only Your Grace that makes us that kind of perfect- Lord rain down Your Flame of Love through the Immaculate Heart of Mary that we would know and love Your Perfect Will!

The Extra Mile

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Monday of the Eleventh Week of Ordinary Time

The Extra Mile

Jesus: “You are My little drop of water. Immerse yourself in the intoxicating wine of My infinite Divinity, both in its life-giving power and in its sweet aroma that you pour out for Me. May My good aroma pour out around you. When others perceive it, they will be led to Me. You see, we must be one. Do not be bound by the clay of the earth filled with worms. Let the earth be only that for you. Look at it as such and let us save souls from the worms that threaten and swarm them. Do penance and pray for them. Your acceptance of the sacrifice is the salt that, once poured over the swarming worms, they will fall like dead leeches. Let them be shriveled and annihilated. Let us have just one thought: the salvation of souls.

Today’s Readings: If anyone wants to go to law with you over your tunic, hand him your cloak as well. Should anyone press you into service for one mile, go with him for two miles. Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow.”

Prayer Meditation- Lord You know so well that we have all heard this Gospel and yet how this goes against our flesh and our feelings. Because the truth is most days, we are ready to go to war over that tunic and we certainly are not going to walk even four feet for a spouse, a child, or a co-worker who at this moment is driving us nuts! However, Lord, the battle for today is to put away our feelings so that we can put on Your Heart- it is only with Your Grace that we can give to those who ask of us today. Even when it is difficult or we are tired or it may be inconvenient. This firm and persevering acceptance of sacrifices for love of You is what will produce abundant fruit in many souls! So let us walk that extra mile today- just leave the baggage behind!

Poured Into Our Hearts

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

The Solemnity of The Most Holy Trinity

Poured Into Our Hearts

Meanwhile, He filled me with a new and wonderful grace. I cannot describe the grace that poured over me while He said: “What I give you now is the grace of full abandonment to Me. All during your life, it will totally control your being, and from your soul, it will radiate to others.” (Elizabeth) (December 15, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Not only that, but we even boast of our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, and endurance, proven character, and proven character, hope, and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that has been given to us.(Romans 5)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, the Trinity is a mystery we will never understand. We were made to love and serve You in this life and live with You forever in the next! Lord, the Holy Spirit, the love between the Father and The Son has been poured into our hearts. We can have hope even when we are afflicted and experiencing trials because this is what You use to guide us on the road to sanctity. Let us abandon ourselves to Your Grace so that You will truly live in us and that we would radiate Your Grace to others, especially those we love!

Ambassadors For Christ

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Saturday of the Tenth Week of Ordinary Time

Ambassadors for Christ

“Do not be passive about my Sacred Cause. It will be through the few, the little ones, and the humble that this great outpouring of graces that must begin which will shake the world. None of those called must excuse themselves or refuse my invitation. All of you are my little instruments.” (Mary) (December 2, 1963)

Today’s Readings: So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who did not know sin, so that we might become the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we are Your ambassadors and Your instruments. We represent You as believers to the world and have a great responsibility to bring You to others. Lord You have equipped us- because of Your Sacrifice we have Your Spirit, Your Righteousness in us! So let us be reconciled to You and let us never be passive- let us be Your little humble instruments that will bring Your Grace, The Flame of Love to a world in need of You!

Earthen Vessels

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Anthony of Padua

Earthen Vessels

In the morning, while kneeling before the tabernacle, torments afflicted my soul. Crying and sobbing, I called out to the Lord, “Where are You, adorable Jesus? Why must I live without You? Give me the grace of conversion…” (Elizabeth) (Compendium Page 21)

Today’s Readings: Brothers and sisters:

We hold this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us. We are afflicted in every way, but not constrained; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the Body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body. (2 Corinthians 4)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we hold Your treasure in earthen vessels. Leaky and broken vessels that can easily lose the graces You so generously give us! But let us take heart- conversion is a lifelong process- we are afflicted and perplexed but we are not driven to despair because You live in us no matter how we may feel if we are in You! So if we are broken today let us come for healing-confession if we need it, prayer, Mass, Adoration, reading Your Word – let us spend time with the One who never abandons us!

Unveiled Faces (From Glory to Glory)

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thursday of the Tenth Week of Ordinary Time

Unveiled Faces (From Glory to Glory)

Jesus: “You see, My little sister, this fine veil, like a breath, is all that separates us from one another. Do you know what this is? It is your life that still keeps you captive on earth.” (Jesus) (September 3, 1964)

Today’s Readings: Now the Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is freedom.
All of us, gazing with unveiled face on the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory,
as from the Lord who is the Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:5)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, we bless You, we adore You and we glorify You because You are  so close to us, it is really just a fine veil which separates us and keeps us captive on Earth. And if we are in You, then the Spirit of the Lord is in us and even here on earth we walk in freedom. With Your Victory on the Cross, the veil of the Temple was torn (Matthew 27:51) in two and the old covenant was gone. We are now Your living temples! And as we gaze on You now with our unveiled faces, we are transformed into Your image from glory to glory because it is not us who live but You who live in us (Galatians 2:20). Lord Jesus reign in us here on Earth as You do in Heaven- come Holy Spirit, come by the means of the power of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Firmness of Heart

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Barnabas

Firmness Of Heart

I was sick. For days, I could not pray because I was so weak. The great heat of this summer contributed to my fatigue. I could hardly walk. When I felt a little stronger, I firmly resolved to return to prayer at night. I asked Jesus, “My adored Jesus, give me strength.” (Elizabeth) (August 1, 1962)

Today’s Readings: In those days a great number who believed turned to the Lord.
The news about them reached the ears of the Church in Jerusalem,
and they sent Barnabas to go to Antioch.
When he arrived and saw the grace of God,
he rejoiced and encouraged them all
to remain faithful to the Lord in firmness of heart,
for he was a good man, filled with the Holy Spirit and faith. (Acts 11)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord today we bless You, we adore You and we glorify You and thank you for the witness of Saint Barnabas, the encourager, filled with the Holy Spirit and faith. He encourages us even today to remain faithful to You in firmness of heart. Because it is easy to be faithful when all is well but to remain faithful in fatigue, illness, worry, strife, or whatever our circumstances are is where the rubber meets the road. Constancy, never wavering or giving in to our moods or our passions- seems almost impossible. But in Your Word in Psalm 112 you tell us

 For the righteous will never be moved;
he will be remembered for ever.
He is not afraid of evil tidings;
his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.
His heart is steady, he will not be afraid.

Lord help us to be faithful because You are always faithful (2 Timothy 2:13) no matter our inconstancy. Jesus we trust in You!

Lighting The Lamps of Souls

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Tenth Week of Ordinary Time

Lighting The Lamps of Souls

This oil will fall on empty lamps and the Flame will be lit. It will even fall on souls that have no lamp (those without the light of true faith) and they will find the road to salvation.” (Mary) (May 30, 1965)

Today’s Readings:

You are the light of the world. A city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gives light to all in the house. Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father.” (Matthew 5)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord so many lamps are empty or flickering today- so many are without the light of faith! And yet we too, called to be light in the world, will so often hide our lamps under a bushel. We are called to be witnesses to Your Love in the world- we can’t always do it with words but we can with deeds and prayers- acts of mercy! To keep our lamps lit, we need You, otherwise, we can flicker our pretty quickly. Lord fill us with Your Light so we can be light for all families and for the world.  Lord light our lamps with the Flame of Love so it can spread like wildfire from soul to soul for Your Glory Lord!

Behold Your Mother

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church

Behold Your Mother

I must tell you, My daughter, that My Mother will not have been more venerated ever since the Word became Flesh, as she will be once she spreads the effect of grace of her Flame of Love in hearts and souls. (Jesus) (August 4, 1963)

Today’s Gospel: When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” (John 19)

Prayer Meditation- Lord today we celebrate Our Mother as Mother of the Church. She was given to us at the Cross- she gave birth to us as Her spiritual children because She is Our Mother in the order of grace. (CCC 966). During these times, we have been given the great grace of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary- She is truly our generation’s ark- the ark of safety to bring us home to You Lord! Spread the effect of grace of thy Flame of Love over all humanity for the conversion of hearts and souls- Her Heart will triumph!

As By A New Pentecost

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Pentecost Sunday

As By A New Pentecost

Through the Flame of Love of the Blessed Virgin, faith will take root in souls, and the face of the earth will be renewed, because ‘nothing like it has happened ever since the Word became Flesh.’ The renewal of the earth, although flooded with sufferings, will come about by the power of intercession of the Blessed Virgin. (Jesus) (March 24, 1963)

Today’s Readings: When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim. (Acts 2)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today we celebrate the Descent of the Holy Spirit, Your Spirit living in us! The Sanctifier, Sweet Guest of our souls! Lord make us docile to His Holy inspirations! Lord, today, in these times which seem ever darker when it comes to faith in the world, we wait again with expectancy praying with Our Blessed Mother! Come Holy Spirit! Come by the Means of the Power of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary!

How Far Is The East From The West?

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Seventh Week of Ordinary Time

How Far Is The East From The West?

“Say and constantly repeat, ‘My adored Jesus.’ I have told you before how pleasant it is to Me, and even if you say nothing else for a whole hour, repeat it with repentance for your sins. This obtains many graces, forgiveness for sins, and provides peace for souls.” (Jesus) (January 2, 1963)

Today’s Readings: For as the heavens are high above the earth, so surpassing is his kindness toward those who fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has he put our transgressions from us.(Psalm 103)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we can so identify with Peter in today’s Gospel (John 21:15-19). How many times have we let You down? How many times have You forgiven us and then given us our mission, a mission only we can fulfill. Let us not let anything get in the way- sin, unforgiveness, guilt, shame but let us confess our sins because You are faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). How far is the East from the West- from one scarred Hand to the Other (Casting Crowns).

I Will Not Be Disturbed

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Boniface

I Will Not Be Disturbed

I bless your family greatly. I free them from the Evil One who disturbs the family peace. Just trust in Me.” (Jesus) (August 3, 1962)

Today’s Readings: I bless the LORD who counsels me; even in the night my heart exhorts me. I set the LORD ever before me; with him at my right hand I shall not be disturbed. (Psalm 16)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, how easy it is to let the storms of life disturb our peace. Family strife, illness, work stress, the times we are living in- you name it, our little boats get rocked pretty easily! We forget Who is sailing with us- it may seem to us that You are sleeping and like the Apostles we scream that we are perishing! (Matthew 8:25). Oh we of little faith! Lord, You are always at our right hand- increase our trust and faith Lord that we would keep our peace and not be disturbed no matter what life is throwing at us!

Living in Truth

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Living in Truth

Do you know what makes the soul to live in truth? The continuous exercise of prayer and sacrifice. Without these, your souls are sick and will die.” (Jesus) (August 6, 1963)

Today’s Readings: I do not ask that you take them out of the world but that you keep them from the Evil One. They do not belong to the world any more than I belong to the world. Consecrate them in the truth. Your word is truth. (John 17)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, as we read Your beautiful prayer we can hear your care for us in these precious words of Yours. We will live in the world and yet we belong to You! Lord help us to know what makes our souls live in truth- the continuous exercise of prayer and sacrifice. Lord help us to turn off the noise of the world so that we can hear Your Voice in our souls and pray without ceasing giving thanks in all circumstances (I Thessalonians 5:16-18) so that we will always live in Your truth!

Peace in Trouble- He Has Conquered The World

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Monday of the Seventh Week of Easter

Peace in Trouble- He Has Conquered The World

“Now that my Flame of Love has conquered your soul, you must seek with all your might everything I have entrusted you. I give to everyone the power to act. By the effect of grace of my Flame of Love, I will enkindle a light in your soul so that your initial trust remain courageous.” (Mary) (November 21, 1963)

Today’s Readings: I have told you this so that you might have peace in me. In the world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.” (John 16)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we know that each day we will have trouble. We will have trouble until You call us home. Yet, You call us to Your peace, the peace that can live in us if we but call Your Name in the midst of our storms. Lord, You have conquered the world- You have conquered sin and death! Through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, may the Flame of Your Love Lord enkindle a light in our souls that we would walk today in trust and courage!

Clean Robes

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Seventh Sunday of Easter

Clean Robes

In Baptism, My heavenly Father gave all of you the most beautiful robe of sanctifying grace. In spite of this, you do not take care of it. Is there any father who has suffered more than I, so that this robe of sanctifying grace can regain its whiteness? (Jesus) (May 1962)

Today’s Readings: Blessed are they who wash their robes so as to have the right to the tree of life and enter the city through its gates. (Revelations 22)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You have given us everything through Your Passion. You have given us the robe of sanctifying grace at baptism. You have instituted the Sacrament of Penance so that we can regain the whiteness of sanctifying grace in our souls. Lord help us never despair or give up- You told St. Faustina that I am Love and Mercy itself…. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet…. My mercy is greater than your sins and those of the entire world (Divine Mercy in My Soul). Lord, let us wash our robes in the living waters of Your grace that we may live with You forever in Heaven!

Blessed Is She

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Blessed Is She

Mary: “My little Carmelite, intensify your desire so that my Flame of Love will be put into action. Make even greater sacrifices.” It is with these very words that she spoke to me. She also repeated them on the feast of her Visitation. Mary: “Offer me greater sacrifices. Do not ask how, just improvise!” (July 30, 1962)

Today’s Readings: “Most blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.” (Luke 1)

Prayer Meditation: Lord, we bless You, and thank You, and adore You because today is the feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Elizabeth. She brought You Lord Jesus to Elizabeth and to the child in her womb, John the Baptist, and She brings You Lord Jesus now to each one of us because we became Her Children at the foot of the Cross! Lord, I love to imagine at certain times in our family’s life that Mary has indeed moved in to help- times of illness, weddings, the birth of our grandchild. during my husband’s cancer treatment, and now in widowhood.  I have asked Her to come visit and She always comes bringing Your Peace and Joy! Lord may we let Her into our hearts and our homes, She who believed what was spoken to Her by You, so that we would live by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Let us imitate our Mother Mary in faith, hope, and charity letting Her form us so we can carry Her Flame of Love, You, Jesus Himself, to others!

Many People In This City

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Sixth Week of Easter

Many People In This City

Mary: “You can only explain my Flame of Love to others by speaking about it. You have no right to be silent because of cowardice, pride, negligence or fear of sacrifice. (Mary) (July 26, 1971)

Today’s Readings: One night while Paul was in Corinth, the Lord said to him in a vision,
“Do not be afraid.
Go on speaking, and do not be silent, for I am with you.
No one will attack and harm you,
for I have many people in this city. (Acts 18)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, especially today, like St. Paul we may all feel afraid to share the Gospel. All we have to do is post something on Facebook to a general audience and watch what happens or say something at a social gathering about faith and check out the response. Our world has become secular. But is it really that or perhaps is it that there is a very loud minority that would want us silent? Because the fact of the matter is that there are many people who have faith and many others who are looking for the hope that is in us (1 Peter 3:15). Lord, I have never known anyone who has turned down prayer or an encouraging word. So let us not be afraid but go on speaking and not let human respect get in the way. How can they know unless someone teaches them ? (Acts 8:31). Blessed Mother, spread the effects of Grace of The Flame of Love over all humanity!

Waiting for the Power from On High

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Solemnity of the Ascension

Waiting for the Power from On High

Have total confidence in Me, this is the key to My Heart. Put aside your doubts. The Holy Spirit whom you invoke frequently will take possession of your soul through Our Mother, His favorite. (March 4-7, 1962)

Today’s Readings: He answered them, “It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has established by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, with the Ascension we enter now the time of waiting with great expectancy! You are in Heaven but the promised Spirit has yet to enter hearts! Many of us Lord wait with expectation- we may be waiting to hear about a doctor’s report, waiting to hear about a job or promotion, waiting for a new baby, waiting for a loved one to pass. It is not up to us to know the time or seasons . But we have been promised power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us! We have that power living in us! Lord as we spend the next ten days waiting for Pentecost let us gather with Our Mother, the Mother of the Church in the upper room in fervent and devout prayer! Come Holy Spirit, Come by the means of the power of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Chain Breaker

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Sixth Week of Easter

Chain Breaker

Let Him chain me to His Sacred Feet so I would always be united to Him. Thus, I would always feel sheltered. He then asked me to renounce myself because I tend to be distracted and worldly. (Elizabeth ) (1961-1962)

Today’s Readings: But Paul shouted out in a loud voice, “Do no harm to yourself; we are all here.” He asked for a light and rushed in and, trembling with fear, he fell down before Paul and Silas. Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you and your household will be saved.” (Acts 16)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we read about Paul and Silas in prison, and yet it was the guard and so often us who are in chains. The earthquake that opened the prison doors was the opportunity for the guard to come to You to be saved! So often Lord, it is the earthquakes in our lives that come out of nowhere that do just that- that cause us to tremble in fear and yet if we reach out to You, we will be set free from the chains of sin and darkness that have kept us in prison. Lord help us not to return to being worldly and distracted, to our old lives- break our chains so that we can live united to You!
