Feast of Saint Andrew

Fishers of Men

“My daughter,
your repentance has brought you closer to Me. Seek this profound repentance for
a great number of souls. I call many souls to follow Me, but few come.” (Jesus)
(April 17, 1962)

Today’s
Readings: “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of
men.”
At once they left their nets and followed him. (Matthew 4)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today is the Feast of Saint Andrew, the Apostle that told his brother Saint Peter that he had found the Messiah. We do not hear a lot about Andrew as compared to his brother Peter but it was likely that it was his quiet witness that prepared his brother to pick up and follow You when You called. Today Lord, You are asking us to pray and sacrifice and to witness discipleship with our lives. You call everyone but it seems few come. But then how can they come if they have not heard? (Romans 10). Let us pray for our priests and for vocations so that many more will come because of our prayers and lives of penance. Saint Andrew, pray for us!

The Lord Our Justice

Today’s Consuming Fire
Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s
Scriptures

First Sunday of Advent

The Lord Our Justice

“Repent! Repent! Repent! This is what I am asking you. The voice of repentance reaches up to the throne of My heavenly Father. It is the voice holding back the arm of justice of My Father.” (Jesus) (November 8, 1964)

Today’s Readings: In those days Judah shall be safe and Jerusalem shall dwell secure; this is what they shall call her: “The LORD our justice.” (Jeremiah 33)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, in the beginning of Advent we hear in The Readings about Your Justice. As St. Therese has said, “My sister, if you look for the justice of God you will get it. The soul will receive from God exactly what she desires.”. Because, Lord You are Our Father, You desire from us humble repentant hearts turned towards You! Hearts like those Lord, will be safe and secure forever in Your Loving Arms! As we prepare to make room for You Lord- let us examine ourselves, especially emptying ourselves of what is in the way of receiving You with joy, peace, and hope this Christmas! In this way we will be found waiting and prepared to run to You Lord, whenever You may call us!

Sadness Or Euphoria

Today’s Consuming Fire

Saturday of the Thirty Fourth Week of Ordinary Time

Sadness or Euphoria

While attending morning Holy Mass, a great anxiety took
possession of my soul. An infuriating battle arose within: these arguments are
nothing but counter-arguments invented by my lies with which I blind myself.
(Elizabeth) (June 18, 1965)

Today’s Readings: Jesus said to his disciples :”Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise like a trap.(Luke 21)

Prayer Meditation- Lord it seems like life is just one big round of sadness or euphoria- ups and downs with no constancy or stability. We then try to self- medicate- it could be eating or drinking too much, social media, TV, you name it. And when we are not trying to run away from ourselves we are stuck in anxiety, fear, worry about the circumstances of our lives. We are trapped by our emotions and we blind ourselves with the lie that we have forever to work this all out. But Lord, You do not want us taken by surprise- You have come to set us free from the cycle of our bad habits and self- absorption- our stinking thinking not at some future point, but today! So let us respond while it is still “today” (Hebrews 3:13) to Your loving invitation to follow You completely. Let’s not anything that would make our heart drowsy get in the way!

His Word Will Never Pass Away

Friday of the Thirty Fourth Week of Ordinary Time

His Word Will Never Pass Away

And
the Word became Flesh. Penetrate and live in this sublime mystery, which
signifies the Redemption of the world.” Even though I meditated on these words,
I am incapable of expressing them. (Jesus/Elizabeth) (October 15, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Heaven and earth will pass away,
but my words will not pass away.” (Luke 21)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, all things are passing. Only Your Word remains. You are the Word made Flesh- in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. (John 1). It is hard for us to wrap our heads around it but someday all that we will know will be gone or changed forever. We came from You and we are meant to return to You (exitus-reditus- St. Thomas Aquinas). Lord, let us today just meditate on the God who loves  us so much that You became flesh just so that we would live with You forever. Let us walk with You now in trust and surrender knowing all will be well because our redemption is at hand (Luke 21).

Thanksgiving Day

Fashioned According to His Will

He
told me to live a life pleasing to God and that His Will will become clear for
me. With this advice, peace returned to my soul and I experienced a day of
great joy. (Elizabeth) (January 18-19 1963)

Today’s Readings: And now, bless the God of all,
who has done wondrous things on earth;
Who fosters people’s growth from their mother’s womb,
and fashions them according to his will!
(Sirach 50)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today we come to You with thanksgiving! With gratitude in our hearts, we thank You most of all for being a God who cares for us and fosters our growth from our mother’s womb and fashions us, if we cooperate, according to Your Will. To live a life pleasing to God with peace and joy we must first of all be grateful for all that You have given us. Let us count our blessings not only today but every day and surrender each day with gratitude to Your Holy Will which is Love and Mercy itself!

Giving Testimony

“Speech is a
gift of God, and one day, we must give an account of our words. Through words,
souls communicate with one another. Also, through words, people get to know us.
Therefore, we have no right to wrap ourselves in silence. (Jesus) (July 26, 1971)

Today’s
Readings: It will lead to your
giving testimony.
Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand,
for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking
that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute. (Luke 21)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, in these secular times, it has become more and more difficult to discuss matters of faith. As the world turns increasingly away from the truths of the Gospel there will times where, whether we like it or not, we will need to speak. Lord, so often, we do this outside of Your grace and fall down on our faces. Please help us Lord- give us the gift of wisdom in speaking through the Holy Spirit, not to win an argument, but to sow the seeds that will bring others to You and to Your Church especially as we head into what the world calls “ the holiday season” when we will be spending time with the ones we love and so want to save.

Tuesday of the Thirty Fourth Week of Ordinary Time

When You Hear of Wars

Following the devastation of the war, I
was able to survive with my children only by bartering our possessions. The
closets were being emptied and almost all our belongings changed ownership.
(Elizabeth) (Biography)

Today’s Readings: When you hear of wars and insurrections,
do not be terrified; for such things must happen first. (Luke 21)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today we begin the readings in the Gospel that refer to the “end times” We all may like to speculate about all that but the truth is in our lives, we will have our own individual end time. We were made for eternity but we are still mortal in our earthly bodies. And we will go through trials and tribulations, “wars” if you will in this life. Lord, You assure us not to be terrified, to be not afraid when we hear bad news- to not give into anxiety and fear but to surrender in total trust to Your Loving Providence. Jesus we trust in You!

Hearing The Voice Of The King

The Solemnity Of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King Of The Universe

Hearing the Voice of
the King

I would speak to every soul this way, if they would receive me.
(Jesus) (May 1962)

Today’s Reading:  Jesus answered, “You say I am a
king.
For this I was born and for this I came into the world,
to testify to the truth.
Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.” (John 18)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, our King and Savior, make us attentive to Your Voice- the Voice of Truth that leads us to Your Kingdom and Glory forever! We adore You, the one who was and is and is to come! Lord help us to surrender all of ourselves to You that You would reign in our hearts, minds, and souls. Pour out Your Flame of Love into our hearts and set us on fire so that  nothing will hold us back from Your Lordship of our lives! As we enter Advent, may we long only for You! Let us examine ourselves, be attentive to Your Voice, and let us be purified of any territory in our hearts not fully surrendered to You!

Like Angels

“When
your body leaves the earth, you will enjoy this glory with Me, impacting
favorably on the souls living on earth. Repeat frequently with the angels,
‘Glory to God’. (Jesus) (Compendium Page 94- Read Online at flameoflove.us)

Today’s Readings: They can no longer die,
for they are like angels;
and they are the children of God
because they are the ones who will rise. (Luke 20)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today in answer to a cynical question from the Sadducees, You answered so beautifully about what Heaven will be like. Not that we can really know here on Earth but we are assured that eye has not seen nor has ear heard what You have prepared for those who love You (1 Corinthians 2:9-11). We know that You have prepared a place for us (John 14:3) so that we would live with You forever. In the Gospel, we hear that we will not die but live like angels because we are the children of God- those who will rise. So let us sing with the angels today, Glory to God in the Highest, as we hold on to Your Promises! We are Yours and You will never let us go!

Hanging
On His Words

I was hanging on His words. It is as if I were
barely able to put them in any order in my thoughts. When He mentioned my
person and spoke of my work as something important, destined to complement the
work of the Holy Father, doubts emerged in my soul. (Elizabeth) (February 29,
1964)

Today’s Readings: The chief priests, the
scribes, and the leaders of the people, meanwhile, were seeking to put him to
death, but they could find no way to accomplish their purpose because all the
people were hanging on his words.(Luke 19)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You speak to us all the time through Your Word, through prayer, and through the Liturgy but are we listening? Are we hanging on Your Words, or are we deaf to them like those leaders whose hearts were so hardened to You? Do we even seek to put those Words to death so to speak by avoiding those things You might say that would overturn those things in our life that just don’t belong in the temple of the Holy Spirit  that You want us to be? Lord soften our hearts so we can hear and hang on those loving Words of Yours daily.

If You Only Knew What Makes For Peace- Recognizing The Time Of Our Visitation

If You Only Knew What Makes For Peace-
Recognizing The Time Of Our Visitation

During the Forty Hours Devotion, I went to the Máriaremete Sanctuary to prepare my soul for the nocturnal adoration. The crowd’s fervor had a wonderful effect on my soul. After an hour, my soul recovered its peace after the interior disturbances in the morning. I rejoiced to see a large crowd offering reparation and adoration. The Lord Jesus said:

Jesus: “I have pity on the crowd.” (Elizabeth/Jesus) (June 4, 1962)

Today’s Readings: As Jesus drew near Jerusalem,
he saw the city and wept over it, saying,
“If this day you only knew what makes for peace–
but now it is hidden from your eyes. (Luke
19)

Prayer Meditation- In the reading from the spiritual diary of Elizabeth Kindelmann, we read how it took some time for her to settle down at Adoration and recover her peace after an interior disturbance earlier in the day. We can all relate- how many interior and exterior disturbances do we all experience that disturb our peace? And we may think that allowing these disturbances is not even close to the rejection of Our Lord by His people who knew Him not (John1) but is it really that far apart? Because if we knew what makes for peace we would not allow these disturbances to enter our soul- Our Lord tells us, do not let our hearts be troubled in John 14 but to trust in Him! The key word is let, as in not letting ourselves be troubled, because no matter our circumstances You see us, have pity on us, and even weep over us and with us when we are weeping. So let us not allow disturbances to hide from the eyes of our hearts Your Presence in our lives even if we may not always feel it.

Taken Away

Time
is short, little sister, and never returns. What you do not accept at a given moment
will never again become available to you, because I think that you would not
receive it willingly. (Jesus) (July 24, 1963)

Today’s
Readings: And to those standing by
he said,
‘Take the gold coin from him
and give it to the servant who has ten.’
But they said to him,
‘Sir, he has ten gold coins.’
He replied, ‘I tell you,
to everyone who has, more will be given,
but from the one who has not,
even what he has will be taken away. (Luke 19)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, this parable terrifies me not just a little bit. How many times do we bury Your Grace and Your Blessings which can come to us in many forms, even sufferings, instead of turning them into the pure gold that saves our souls and the souls of others. Lord, You have given us all sufficient grace for the seasons of life we are in. And You have given to each of us a task that is uniquely ours to accomplish- time is short and it never returns. Lord may we receive willingly what You are offering us in every moment be it joy or pain- let us not be the ones who do not have the faith to persevere, but let us be the ones receive every blessing You have to give us at every moment of our lives!

Jesus in The House

I
have rented your small house. Adore Me and make reparation here. I will remain
next to you while you live here on earth.” (Jesus) (July 12, 1965)

Today’s
Readings: When he reached the
place, Jesus looked up and said,
“Zacchaeus, come down quickly,
for today I must stay at your house.”
And he came down quickly and received him with joy. (Luke 19)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today we see You responding to Zacchaeus’ longing for Your Presence by asking to stay at his house. Lord, any little invitation on our part and You will indeed come rushing in because You see the hearts that so long for Your Mercy and Grace. Lord, help us to invite You into the little houses of our souls today so that we can adore and make reparation for so many who ignore Your passing by. Lord remain next to us every moment we are on Earth!

Jesus of Nazareth is Passing By

“In
spite of your great infidelity, I call to you with love. You no longer come
with confidence. I redeemed you from eternal death. Now, you do not want to
live with Me. You are content with the passing things of the earth.” (Jesus) (October
11, 1962)

Today’s
Readings: They told him,
“Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.”
He shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!” (Luke 18)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, in today’s Gospel we read that You are passing by. In fact, You are always among us, You are indeed always “passing by”. Lord what is our response? Do we cry out. Lord Jesus, have mercy on me with bold and confident trust, fully understanding our own helplessness. Or do we remain content with the passing things of this world. Yes, Jesus, have mercy on me a sinner- I want what You want for me today and every day!

Learning From The Fig Tree

Thirty Third Sunday of Ordinary Time

Learning from the Fig Tree

The moment is near, so be patient. I can hardly wait for your arrival. My Elizabeth, My little one! I draw you close to My Heart. You will receive a tremendous reward for all the sufferings that you have accepted for My work of Salvation.” (Jesus) (October 2, 1963)

Today’s Readings- “Learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see these things happening ,know that he is near, at the gates (Mark 13)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, it is that time of the liturgical year- end times readings! It is so easy to get caught up in all kinds of theories, signs and anxieties but the truth of the matter is we all will individually have an end time. So, when we look at the fig trees of our own lives what do we see? Are our hearts tender and bearing much fruit because we know that You are always near, always ready to welcome us? Do we picture You awaiting our arrival in Heaven when we will see You face to face? Does this picture in our minds cause us to feel hope and expectancy and not fear? Lord Jesus come now- into our hearts and our lives and never leave us!

of Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini

Calling Out Day and Night

Jesus
asked, “Cannot I work a miracle?” “But I am not worthy, Lord.” “Nevertheless, I
will work a miracle. I will so bless the problem which seems impossible that
all will be straightened out.” (Jesus) (August 3, 1962)

Today’s
Readings: The Lord said, “Pay
attention to what the dishonest judge says.
Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones
who call out to him day and night?
Will he be slow to answer them? (Luke 18)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, how often we are afraid to ask for what we really need. We say the same little prayers each day afraid to ask for the big things we really need with faith and trust. We speak but we do not release our faith. Yet, this is not how You asked us to pray in the Gospels. You want us to call out to You day and night- to pray from the heart! More than anything Lord, You respond to humble and contrite hearts that pour themselves out to You like a little child to her Abba Father! Let us depend on You because without You we have nothing. Let us depend on Your Holy Will which is love and mercy itself!

Memorial of Saint Josaphat

Ark Of The Covenant

While Our Lady spoke about Carmel, the Lord interrupted, “My Mother is Noah’s Ark.” He often said this. (Elizabeth) (Spring 1981)

Today’s Readings: As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of Man; they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage up to the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. (Luke 17)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, these times are so dark and confusing. Many can predict many things but the truth is we know not the day or the hour that You may call us individually or as a world to the new creation You have meant us to be (Matthew 24:36). But one thing we know for sure  is that while we live, there is one Ark we can count on- the Ark of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. She will always point the way to You and to an ever closer and deeper walk with You! Lord, let us take up our weapons- prayer, Rosary, scapular, Sacraments, and Sacred Scripture as we follow our General, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, and terrible in battle array into the Ark of Safety in this life no matter what storm is surrounding us. To Jesus through Mary!

Thursday of the Thirty Second Week of
Ordinary Time

Thy Kingdom Come

“Each
night, My little one, ask yourself what you have done for the coming of My
Kingdom. Never be content with yourself. There is no room on earth for
self-satisfaction. (Jesus) (August 28, 1962)

Today’s
Readings: Asked by the Pharisees
when the Kingdom of God would come,
Jesus said in reply,
“The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed,
and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’
For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” (Luke 17)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, sometimes I think, maybe because we have gotten so used to being entertained, that we expect Your Kingdom to be only big things. Thunder and lightning, fire and brimstone, some event that will come and really shake things up. And yes, someday, You will make all things new and there will be a new Heaven and a new Earth. Lord we  are in the time of now but not yet. Because Your Kingdom of God is among us and has been since the Incarnation. Emmanuel- God with us! It is so easy to get discouraged in the darkness of living in the world because we are not yet seeing clearly (1 Corinthians 13). But Lord, You are among us in Your Word, in prayer, in the Sacraments, and in the “sacrament” of the present moment every moment of our lives. It is so easy to be complacent and accept mediocrity, but Lord help us to never be content but to seek You in all things so that we can then bring Your Kingdom to so many that are in desperate need of You!

Gratitude to the God Who Loves Us in Every Moment

On
one occasion, when Elizabeth needed bread, Jesus did her a special favor. Jesus
said, “Leave now. You must get bread for your family.” I had forgotten this
completely. With deep gratitude, I thanked Him that His attention extended also
to our earthly needs. (Elizabeth) (February 14, 1965)

Today’s Readings: “Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?” Then he said to him, “Stand up and go; your faith has saved you.” (Luke 17)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, how often are we like the lepers who just went on their merry way after being healed. Every day You shower Your Grace on us and we barely notice. Even worse, we grumble, murmur, and complain (Philippians 2) as we go about our day and our duties! We have bad attitudes. Yet You care about us and are concerned for us in every moment of our day- from the small temporal concerns to the big problems we think are so insurmountable Your Eyes never leave us. Lord, help us in each moment to be grateful and to thank You for all things great and small today!

Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica in Rome

Streams of Living Water

This stream of water is My grace which
purifies, which destroys when need be, or saves and gives life. It must run
because God wills it. (Jesus) (June 15, 1964)

Today’s Readings: There is a stream whose runlets gladden the city
of God,
the holy dwelling of the Most -High.
God is in its midst; it shall not be disturbed;
God will help it at the break of dawn. (Psalm 46)

Prayer Meditation- Lord today we honor the Lateran Basilica, a symbol of The Church as Mother and Bride. We read in the first reading from Ezekiel today about the water flowing from every side, watering the river bank resulting in fresh fruit that serves for both food and medicine for our souls. This river, this living water is the Sacraments. The Blood and Water which flowed from Your Pierced Side, Your living water purifies, destroys when need be, and saves and gives life. Lord, keep us close to Your Bride, The Church and to fill us with Your Living Water that we may never thirst again! (John 4).
