To The Childlike

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Francis Xavier

To The Childlike

Jesus: “Do you know why I make you write about the different events in your life? Because these are reflections of My graces in your soul that you – I know it well – would never tell others. In this manner, I oblige you to write so all will see the Divine Work that I have done in your soul since your childhood. (Jesus) (July 24, 1965)

Today’s Readings: Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said,
“I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although you have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
you have revealed them to the childlike. (Luke 10)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, sometimes we can make things so complicated. We want to know everything but the reality is that You reveal Yourself to the childlike and the humble who turn to You in faith and trust. To them, and hopefully that is us, You have revealed the Kingdom of Heaven. You have been working in our souls since our baptism and You want us to remain Your little children totally dependent on You. Maybe this Advent it is time to strip any complexities from our lives, especially our faith lives, and go back to basics. Instead of piling on devotion after devotion, spiritual book after spiritual book, why don’t we read a chapter a day from the Gospels and pray the Rosary from the heart. Let us do it every day and help us to keep our eyes on You and our hand in Mary’s Hand as we await Your birth into our hearts anew this Advent.

Only Say The Word

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Monday of the First Week of Advent

Only Say The Word

“I tell you and I promise with My Divine Word that whenever you pray for someone, you will never be refused, because the drops of oil of your sacrifices not only fall on the lamps of souls, but also upon My wounds which burn with fever. (Jesus) (April 12, 1965)

Today’s Readings: The centurion said in reply,
“Lord, I am not worthy to have you enter under my roof;
only say the word and my servant will be healed. (Matthew 8)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today we meet the centurion who like us is totally unworthy to receive You but who hopefully like us has faith that You can heal by just one Word! Because one drop of Your Favor is all that it takes to turn any situation around. So let us pray boldly and with confidence, unworthy though we are, because You want our healing and the healing of our loved ones more than we do! Lord I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof but only say the Word and my soul will be healed!

The Lord Our Justice

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

First Sunday of Advent

The Lord Our Justice

“Repent! Repent! Repent! This is what I am asking you. The voice of repentance reaches up to the throne of My heavenly Father. It is the voice holding back the arm of justice of My Father.” (Jesus) (November 8, 1964)

Today’s Readings: In those days Judah shall be safe and Jerusalem shall dwell secure; this is what they shall call her: “The LORD our justice.” (Jeremiah 33)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, in the beginning of Advent we hear in The Readings about Your Justice. As St. Therese has said, “My sister, if you look for the justice of God you will get it. The soul will receive from God exactly what she desires.”. Because, Lord You are Our Father, You desire from us humble repentant hearts turned towards You! Hearts like those Lord, will be safe and secure forever in Your Loving Arms! As we prepare to make room for You Lord- let us examine ourselves, especially emptying ourselves of what is in the way of receiving You with joy, peace, and hope this Christmas! In this way we will be found waiting and prepared to run to You Lord, whenever You may call us!

Fishers Of Men

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Feast of Saint Andrew The Apostle

Fishers of Men

“My daughter, your repentance has brought you closer to Me. Seek this profound repentance for a great number of souls. I call many souls to follow Me, but few come.” (Jesus) (April 17, 1962)

Today’s Readings: “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
At once they left their nets and followed him. (Matthew 4)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today is the Feast of Saint Andrew, the Apostle that told his brother Saint Peter that he had found the Messiah. We do not hear a lot about Andrew as compared to his brother Peter but it was likely that it was his quiet witness that prepared his brother to pick up and follow You when You called. Today Lord, You are asking us to pray and sacrifice and to witness discipleship with our lives. You call everyone but it seems few come. But then how can they come if they have not heard? (Romans 10). Let us pray for our priests and for vocations so that many more will come because of our prayers and lives of penance. Saint Andrew, pray for us!

The Kingdom of God Is Near

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

The Kingdom of God Is Near

Wherever you go, let it be felt that you partake every day in the heavenly banquet. Desire that everyone have this same yearning. Let the coming of My Kingdom be the only object of prime importance in your life. (August 16, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Jesus told his disciples a parable.
“Consider the fig tree and all the other trees.
When their buds burst open,
you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near;
in the same way, when you see these things happening,
know that the Kingdom of God is near. (Luke 21)

Prayer Meditation- Lord the Kingdom is here now but not yet. Because Your Kingdom has not come in its fullness as it will at the end of time. And yet You told us that the Kingdom of God is within us (Luke 17:21). And do we live like we are already in the Kingdom? Is it apparent wherever we go that we partake in the heavenly banquet of the Mass? Do we live Spirit filled lives? Let the coming of the Kingdom right now in our hearts as well as when it comes on Earth as it is in Heaven be our purpose and may we desire that everyone has the same yearning for the God who yearns for us!

Fashioned According To His Will

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thanksgiving Day

Fashioned According to His Will

He told me to live a life pleasing to God and that His Will will become clear for me. With this advice, peace returned to my soul and I experienced a day of great joy. (Elizabeth) (January 18-19 1963)

Today’s Readings: And now, bless the God of all,
who has done wondrous things on earth;
Who fosters people’s growth from their mother’s womb,
and fashions them according to his will!
(Sirach 50)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today we come to You with thanksgiving! With gratitude in our hearts, we thank You most of all for being a God who cares for us and fosters our growth from our mother’s womb and fashions us, if we cooperate, according to Your Will. To live a life pleasing to God with peace and joy we must first of all be grateful for all that You have given us. Let us count our blessings not only today but every day and surrender each day with gratitude to Your Holy Will which is Love and Mercy itself!

Great And Wonderful

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Wednesday of the Thirty Fourth Week of Ordinary Time

Great and Wonderful

With His enlightened words, He poured out the wonderful grace of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Power, and the wonderful light of the Holy Spirit enlightened my soul. (Elizabeth) (March 24, 1963)

Today’s Readings: “Great and wonderful are your works, Lord God almighty. (Revelation 15)

Prayer Meditation- Lord as we come to the end of the liturgical year and meditate in the daily readings on when You will come back in glory let us take this time just to praise You Lord for all of the graces that You continue to pour out on us! No matter what circumstances we may be in we know that Your works are great and wonderful- may the light of Your Holy Spirit enlighten our hearts, minds, and souls today! Let us sing to You a new song each day in thanksgiving and in praise!

All Things Are Passing

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Thirty Fourth Week of Ordinary Time

All Things Are Passing

Jesus: “You know, do you not, that I invited you to My private war camp? Do not be attracted by the passing comfort of this world. The coming of My Kingdom must be your only purpose in life. My words will reach a multitude of souls consecrated to Me. Trust! My grace will be with you and I will help all of you in a miraculous way.” (August 8, 1962)

Today’s Readings: While some people were speaking about
how the temple was adorned with costly stones and votive offerings,
Jesus said, “All that you see here–
the days will come when there will not be left
a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down.” (Luke 21)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we have come to understand that nothing is permanent and all things are passing. We will not always be able to count on the things we thought were so solid in this world. And yet Lord, we know that we can count on Your Kingdom which will come on Earth as it is in Heaven and that even now reigns in our hearts. So let us not be worried about the passing comforts of this world but dedicate ourselves in trust to Your Grace and Mercy which will never leave us or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:8)  no matter how uncertain life may seem.

Seeking The Face Of God

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Monday of the Thirty Fourth Week of Ordinary Time

Seeking the Face of God

While getting ready to go to bed for the night, I prostrated myself one last time before the image of His Holy Face. (Elizabeth) (May 28, 1964)

Today’s Readings: He shall receive a blessing from the LORD, a reward from God his savior. Such is the race that seeks for him, that seeks the face of the God of Jacob. (Psalm 24)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, we read today in the first reading from Revelation about those in Heaven who contemplate Your Face for all Eternity. Lord, we struggle here on Earth and You seem so far away at times- we see as through a glass darkly (1 Corinthians 13). Lord the Gospel today teaches us one way through the darkness- total self- surrender of all that we are, just like the poor widow who gave not from her surplus but all that she had. (Luke 21). Lord, help us always to seek Your Face- in the good and the bad, in joys and sorrows, in the valley and on the mountaintop because You are there through all of it and You will never let us go!

Hearing The Voice Of The King

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe

Hearing the Voice of the King

I would speak to every soul this way, if they would receive me. (Jesus) (May 1962)

Today’s Reading:  Jesus answered, “You say I am a king.
For this I was born and for this I came into the world,
to testify to the truth.
Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.” (John 18)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, our King and Savior, make us attentive to Your Voice- the Voice of Truth that leads us to Your Kingdom and Glory forever! We adore You, the one who was and is and is to come! Lord help us to surrender all of ourselves to You that You would reign in our hearts, minds, and souls. Pour out Your Flame of Love into our hearts and set us on fire so that  nothing will hold us back from Your Lordship of our lives! As we enter Advent, may we long only for You! Let us examine ourselves, be attentive to Your Voice, and let us be purified of any territory in our hearts not fully surrendered to You!

This Is How I Fight My Battles

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Saturday of the Thirty Third Week of Ordinary Time

This Is How I Fight My Battles

I see your perseverance and I am rewarding you in advance for that. Just so you not be distressed, I will mention a little detail which pleases me and is for your merit. Many people in your neighborhood have known you for years. You have fought your great battles before their eyes. Many admire you and even your enemies speak of you with respect. I am pleased to hear that. A mother is pleased to hear one of her children is recognized as being good. And you are my daughter, twice over. (Mary) (November 19, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Blessed be the LORD, my rock,
who trains my hands for battle, my fingers for war. (Psalm 144)

Prayer Meditation: Lord why is it that every day is just a battle! Life on earth is just a battlefield. Every day it is always something- family difficulties, work problems, financial concerns, illness, and just feeling down and discouraged if we take it all in without Your Help. And we wonder where You are!  But Lord You promise us in today’s Psalm that You train our hands for battle, our fingers for war! And You see us, fighting our great battles even if nobody else sees. Lord, there is a song called Surrounded by Michael W. Smith which goes like this over and over-  this is how I fight my battles!  And the song starts with Isaiah 61:3- that we are to put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. So let us praise You in all circumstances and pick up our weapons, The Holy Rosary because our fingers are indeed trained for war when we unite ourselves with You and the Blessed Mother! Because the battle belongs to You! (1 Samuel 17:47)

Hanging On His Word

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Cecilia

Hanging on His Word

“If I see your confidence, I am obliged to you, and you can have anything from Me. I do not restrain Myself. I stay right before you with the love of My Heart to make you happy.” (Jesus) (August 6, 1963)

Today’s Readings: How sweet to my palate are your promises, sweeter than honey to my mouth! (Psalm 119)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we stand on Your Promises, the Promises that are in Your Word! Each day Lord, rather than give in to feelings, anxiety, worries and even despair- let us pick up Your Word and say Your Promises out loud! Let us with confidence and trust hang on Your Every Word because You have promised that You will never leave or forsake us! (Matthew 28:20). Let us hang onto to Your Words (Luke 19:48) as they did in Today’s Gospel!

Sing and Rejoice O Daughter Zion

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary

Sing and Rejoice O Daughter Zion

Human words cannot express what I have prepared for all of you. I await your arrival with a rich gift. My Heart will rejoice at your arrival. (Jesus) (October 4, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Sing and rejoice, O daughter Zion!
See, I am coming to dwell among you, says the LORD.
Many nations shall join themselves to the LORD on that day,
and they shall be his people,
and he will dwell among you,
and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. (Zechariah 2)

Prayer Meditation- Today we celebrate the presentation of Our Lady in the Temple! Our Lady by tradition lived in the Temple from the age of three years old and she entered the Temple with joy united to Your Holy and Divine Will! Our Lady can indeed sing and rejoice because with Her prayers in the Temple she yearned and longed for the coming Messiah, having no idea She would be the Mother of God! And with Our Blessed Mother we can long and pray for the coming of Your Kingdom through the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Let us present ourselves today to You in prayer and thanksgiving because human words cannot express what You have prepared for those who love You! (1 Corinthians 2:9).

Faithful In Small Things

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Wednesday of the Thirty Third Week of Ordinary Time

Faithful In Small Things

You are a small instrument, just like the little match that you hold in your hand. Do not be surprised by what I tell you. With one strike of the match, I will enkindle in millions of souls the Flame of Love of My Mother.” (Jesus) (January 16, 1966)

Today’s Readings: The first came forward and said,
‘Sir, your gold coin has earned ten additional ones.’
He replied, ‘Well done, good servant!
You have been faithful in this very small matter;
take charge of ten cities.’ (Luke 19)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, we are the smallest of Your instruments and yet if we are faithful and trustworthy You will grow Your Kingdom through us! Let us not bury our talents in the ground but let us leave nothing on the table as we use the gifts You have given us for Your Glory! Let us be the little match knowing that we have no talents that do not come from You to enkindle the fire of Your Flame of Love in millions of souls! All we have to do is be faithful, one “yes” to Your Will at a time.

Jesus Is Knocking At The Door Of Your Heart

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Thirty Third Week of Ordinary Time

Jesus Is Knocking At The Door Of Your Heart

I constantly stretch out My hand asking for help. I go from heart to heart and I receive only a small donation. Then they quickly close the door of their heart and I can hardly cast a glance inside.” (Jesus) (May 2, 1962)

Today’s Readings:

“‘Behold, I stand at the door and knock.
If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,
then I will enter his house and dine with him,
and he with me. (Revelations 3)

Prayer Meditation: Lord You knock always at the door of our hearts! Yet we keep You in our little “God box”. We let You in briefly on a Sunday and then we don’t give You a second glance as we go on with our busy lives! Yet You want to live with us and dine with us! You want to live every moment of our lives in us- in unity! There is not a single detail of our lives that You do not want to share with us! Lord, help us not to block Your Grace but to let Your Mercy come in like a rushing wind- blow apart what stands in Your Way today Lord!

Shout It Out!

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Monday of the Thirty Third Week of Ordinary Time

Monday of the Thirty Third Week in Ordinary Time

Shout it Out

I broke into a shout, “How good of You to come! Truly, You do not despise me. Because I am a sinner, You double Your strength in me. What goodness, what limitless compassion You have for a repentant sinner.” For a long time, I gave thanks for His infinite mercy. (Elizabeth) (November 22, 1962)

Today’s Readings: He shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!” The people walking in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent, but he kept calling out all the more, “Son of David, have pity on me!” (Luke 18)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You are always passing by yet so few notice. It seems that it is fewer and fewer these days. And yet, You are always attentive to our call- Lord we cannot see You just like the blind man but like him, we can also step out in faith! Lord, when we feel discouraged, when we feel like we are in darkness, when we are waiting on You and nothing seems to be happening, as well as in the times when we just want to praise Your Name- may we shout it out today in gratitude for Your infinite mercy!

Learning From The Fig Tree

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thirty Third Sunday of Ordinary Time

Learning from the Fig Tree

The moment is near, so be patient. I can hardly wait for your arrival. My Elizabeth, My little one! I draw you close to My Heart. You will receive a tremendous reward for all the sufferings that you have accepted for My work of Salvation.” (Jesus) (Compendium Page 49)

Today’s Readings- “Learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see these things happening ,know that he is near, at the gates (Mark 13)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, it is that time of the liturgical year- end times readings! It is so easy to get caught up in all kinds of theories, signs and anxieties but the truth of the matter is we all will individually have an end time. So, when we look at the fig trees of our own lives what do we see? Do we see our hearts tender and bearing much fruit because we know that You are always near, standing at the gates ready for us to welcome You inside? Do we see You awaiting our arrival one day to see You face to face with hope and expectancy and not fear? Lord Jesus come now- into our hearts and our lives and never leave us!

Will He Find Faith On Earth?

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Saturday of the Thirty Second Week of Ordinary Time

Will He Find Faith on Earth?

“Suffer with courage, perseverance and a sincere abandonment. Don’t ponder if the suffering is large or small. All that you can still do for Me on earth is meritorious. Time is short, little sister, and never returns. (Jesus) (July 24, 1963)

Today’s Readings: The Lord said, “Pay attention to what the dishonest judge says. Will not God then secure the rights of his chosen ones who call out to him day and night? Will he be slow to answer them? I tell you, he will see to it that justice is done for them speedily. But when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” (Luke 18)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, when You come again will You find faith on earth? I have to admit Lord with the way things are in the world and the Church, that question has been actually keeping me up at night. It seems like faith is very hard to find. Yet Lord, in today’s Gospel You teach us about prayer and perseverance, no matter the difficulty. To never give up! We only have today to love and serve You! Lord, yes You will find faith on earth- we may be small and few but we suffer with courage, perseverance and sincere abandonment for the love of You and the salvation of souls!

No Looking Back

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Thirty Second Week of Ordinary Time

No Looking Back

“Oh, how many, many souls receive My abundant graces, but they are not prepared, and the purifying water of My love drains out. Their souls lose this grace. (Jesus) (November 17-18 1964)

Today’s Readings: Remember the wife of Lot. Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses it will save it. (Luke 17)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we seek to hold onto so many things as we journey through life- it could be things, unforgiveness, need for control, wounds that won’t heal, seasons in life which are for a time but are not for eternity. It can be hard to let go and move forward, and yet, You cannot fill us with new wine if we are still holding onto old wine skins. We are all journeying to You and yet like Lot’s wife so often we look back even as it is time for doors to close. Lord, help us to keep moving forward, letting go of attachments that are holding us back from You!

The Kingdom Of God Is Among Us

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thursday of the Thirty Second Week of Ordinary Time

The Kingdom of God is Among Us

“Each night, My little one, ask yourself what you have done for the coming of My Kingdom (Jesus) (August 28, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, Jesus said in reply, “The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, ‘Look, here it is,’ or, ‘There it is.’ For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you.” (Luke 17)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, Your Kingdom is here and now and not yet because You will return! And yet it is inside each one of us who is a baptized believer in a state of Grace. We have to look no further than our own hearts. Let us ask ourselves each night if what we have said and done has brought us closer or further away from Your Kingdom. Let us resolve to live in You, through You and for You each day! Fiat, Thy Will be Done!
