Seventy Times Seven

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thursday of the Nineteenth Week of Ordinary Time

Seventy Times Seven

A long time ago, you received from My merciful Heart the full possession of the love which forgives. I accept this profound repentance with which you prostrated yourself before Me for the sake of others, and I grant them My pardon.” (Jesus) (August 18, 1965)

Today’s Readings: Peter approached Jesus and asked him, “Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times. (Matthew 18)

Prayer Meditation- Lord we have received in full measure the love that forgives! Let us show that love to others, as many times as we need to forgive because we have been forgiven much. Lord let us continue to come to You with a heart full of repentance for ourselves and for others, especially those we love!

Marked With The Sign Of The Cross

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Optional Memorial of Saint Jane Francis de Chantal

Marked With The Sign of The Cross

Jesus: “Were you not deeply touched by the bishop’s blessing? I was there when he traced the cross on your forehead. I did this for two reasons: to give you a reward for your numerous sufferings; and so that the bishop would know My Divine Will concerning you.” (Jesus) (December 15, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Pass through the city, through Jerusalem,
and mark a “Thau” on the foreheads of those who moan and groan
over all the abominations that are practiced within it. (Ezekiel 9)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, we love You, we bless You and we adore You because we read in the First Reading from the Book of  Ezekiel about those who lamented  of the evil in their day and they were marked with a Thau, an exemption from judgement. Today. Lord, Our Lady is spreading the effect of Her Flame of Love to all souls marked with Your Cross because the Flame of Love in Her Heart is Noah’s Ark for our sad times. for ourselves and our families(Spring 1981). Today let us join the Immaculata, Our Beautiful Mother and renew our consecration prayers no matter which ones we made (De Montfort, Kolbe, 33 Days, etc) in the name of all for Your Glory Lord and the good of all!

We Are All Little Ones

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Clare

We Are All Little Ones

“That first meeting was the great step, when My Mother entrusted you to Me in a special way. Since then, My little one, you have been flying like an arrow towards Me. (Jesus) (April 8, 1962)

Today’s Readings: And if he finds it, amen, I say to you, he rejoices more over it than over the ninety-nine that did not stray. In just the same way, it is not the will of your heavenly Father that one of these little ones be lost.” (Matthew 18)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You tell us how much You love the little ones. You also tell us today that it is not Your Will that any are lost! Lord, the truth is, if we humble ourselves, we are all Your little ones and You came for all of us! Let us entrust ourselves to You as little children through  Our Blessed Mother so that we will fly like arrows into Your Loving Arms!

Rising By Falling

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Feast of Saint Lawrence

Rising By Falling

“When you are in Heaven and from up there you contemplate the death of one of your children, you will be by his bed. Your drop of oil will fall on the empty lamp and the Flame of Love of the Blessed Virgin will be lit. (Jesus) (October 9, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Jesus said to his disciples: “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit. (John 12)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, on this feast day of Saint Lawrence we are reminded of the cost of discipleship. That to follow You means to die to ourselves- for Christians through the years and even now it meant literally laying down their lives as You did. For most of us to die means to lay down our own ideas, our own wills, maybe even our own dreams for Your dream for our life. Many of us who follow You Lord are still unopened seeds, so much potential, but held back by the fear of falling. Held back by our need for control. Yet Lord it is in this abandonment to Your Providence that we will produce the fruit that You intended for us to produce. It may be here in this life but it may very well be in the next- like St. Therese doing good from Heaven! Fiat Lord, Thy Will be done!

In The Whispers-Not The Noise

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Nineteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time

In The Whispers- Not The Noise

That same day, the Lord Jesus also spoke in the great silence of my soul. His voice was like a whisper: Jesus: “Be careful, My little one. Renounce yourself entirely. Give yourself totally to Me. You know that I want no evil to enter your heart. With My sufferings, I paid a great price for you, for your soul. Let nothing make you lose the graces which I am constantly giving you. Be careful. The Evil One wants to enter without notice and, as a ravaging animal, destroy the powers of your soul.” (Jesus) (May 17, 1962)

Today’s Readings: A strong and heavy wind was rending the mountains
and crushing rocks before the LORD—
but the LORD was not in the wind.
After the wind there was an earthquake—
but the LORD was not in the earthquake.
After the earthquake there was fire—
but the LORD was not in the fire.
After the fire there was a tiny whispering sound.
When he heard this,
Elijah hid his face in his cloak
and went and stood at the entrance of the cave. (1 Kings 19)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today we live in a lot of noise. There is the constant din of the media and opinions all of which can do nothing but confuse and make us anxious. We may even try to interpret the signs of the times in terms of war and chaos and catastrophe. And yet Lord, You are not in the earthquake, You are not in wind, and You are not in the fire. But You are in the silence and in the whispers that You constantly speak to our battered souls. And while we drown like Peter in today’s Gospel (Matthew 14) whenever we take our eyes off You, You will always lift us up when we call out Your Name so that we can let go of the noise and the baggage.

Always On Time

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Dominic

Always On Time

O heavenly Mother, I desire so much that your Flame of Love burns that I feel a great sadness and affliction because it is being delayed. O Mother, smooth out the road of those called to promote your Cause. (Elizabeth) (July 30, 1962)

Today’s Readings: For the vision still has its time, presses on to fulfillment, and will not disappoint; If it delays, wait for it, it will surely come, it will not be late. (Habakkuk 2)

Prayer Meditation- Lord we can be so impatient for You to act in our lives, especially in the times we are living in now. We so want our families to be restored and for circumstances such as illness and stressful situations to turn around. We feel like we are being put to the test and we do not know when the road ahead will be smooth, Lord when will You show up? Lord, we know that Your Vision for our lives will press on to fulfillment and will not disappoint! We may feel that You delay but You are always on time, You are never late!

The Way Of The Cross

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Eighteenth Week in Ordinary Time

The Way Of The Cross

On Friday, immerse yourself in my Sacred Passion. During
the day, meditate on the Way of the Cross. From noon to three,
adore my sacred wounds.” (Note, this can be done even at work
or school.) (Jesus) (April 6, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Jesus said to his disciples,
“Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself,
take up his cross, and follow me.
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world
and forfeit his life? (Matthew 16)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, so many want to avoid the cross in their lives. We want everything easy- we want our Heaven here! But there is no way to Heaven except through the Cross of Jesus. We have so many crosses- family worries, health concerns, work problems, the state of our nation and our world, our own helplessness to avoid sin. But if we unite them to Your Cross Lord throughout our day out of love for You and for the salvation of souls You will be faithful and You will walk us through the valley!

Listen To Him

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord

Listen To Him

Because your soul has been purified of the anguish of doubts, you now have been given the power to rise to the heavenly Father and be immersed in the delightful and joyful contemplation of the Holy Trinity. (Jesus) (October 23-24, 1963)

Today’s Readings: Then a cloud came, casting a shadow over them;
from the cloud came a voice,
“This is my beloved Son. Listen to him.”
Suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone
but Jesus alone with them (Mark 9)

Prayer Meditation- Lord today we meditate on the Transfiguration. Peter, John, and James see You in the Your Glory. Peter nervously tries to enter the conversation with You, the Law (Moses) and the Prophets (Elijah) but really the Apostles are scared to death and have no idea what is going on. In so many ways, when faced with Your Glory and Your Majesty, we can be the same. And yet, You call us- Our God first and foremost but also Our Friend to rise and not be afraid especially in these turbulent times. You call us to be purified of doubt and fear and to rise to You in confidence and trust! Let us raise our eyes and see no one but You alone- reign in all the Earth Jesus!

Woman How Great is Your Faith

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Wednesday of the Eighteenth Week of Ordinary Time

Woman How Great is Your Faith

The Lord Jesus told me that He had just given me, with wonderful strength, the grace of faith and confidence, because without these two virtues, no other virtues can take root in either me, or in any other soul. (Elizabeth) (May 24, 1963)

Today’s Readings: Then Jesus said to her in reply, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed from that hour. (Matthew 15)

Prayer Meditation- Lord today is a wonderful day because The Church has given us the Gospel of the Canaanite Woman who never gave up in her persistence! She humbled herself and You heard her prayers! Lord You are asking all of us to do the same- to pray with faith and confidence and with love and humility in our hearts! On this day let us pray  The Holy Rosary as Our Lady has taught us because there is no problem that cannot be solved by praying the Rosary! (Sister Lucia)

Take Courage

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint John Vianney

Take Courage

“My little one, take courage and gaze at Me. May our eyes look at each other and our glances melt in one another.”  (Jesus) (Compendium Page 50)

Today’s Readings: At once Jesus spoke to them, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” Peter said to him in reply, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” (Matthew 14)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You call us out upon the waters, the great unknown where feet may fail! We want to come out to walk with You, but we so often can’t keep our eyes above the waves. Lord help us not to doubt, why do we have so little faith? Call us Lord like You called Peter and command us to come to You- may our glances melt in one another as we keep our eyes fixed on You, the only one who walks with us through the storms of our life.  You will never let us sink when we look down if we but call Your Name! Lord, may our humble prayer be Your Command!

All We Have

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Monday of the Eighteenth Week of Ordinary Time

All We Have

On the way, I kept adoring Him. When I entered the bakery, I remembered that it was Saturday and I asked, “Do you still have bread?” They said, “No.” I was scared. What will happen now? When I was about to leave, I heard them call me. They had reserved a bread, but the one for whom they had set it aside did not come to get it. At once, I said, “My adorable Jesus.” He said: Jesus: “I am that one. Do you see? The time you spend with Me should not harm your family.” (Elizabeth/Jesus) (February 14, 2015)

Today’s Readings: When it was evening, the disciples approached him and said,
“This is a deserted place and it is already late;
dismiss the crowds so that they can go to the villages
and buy food for themselves.”
He said to them, “There is no need for them to go away;
give them some food yourselves.”
But they said to him,
“Five loaves and two fish are all we have here.”
Then he said, “Bring them here to me,” (Matthew 14)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, today we read two parallel stories. One disciple, Elizabeth, spent too much time in Adoration as if there is such a thing, and was risking missing out on the last loaf of bread for her family at the bakery. The others followed You to a deserted place but now it was dinner time with not a restaurant in sight. As disciples we come to You with all we have- the five loaves of our devotion, the two fish of our poverty because without You we are nothing. And that is right where You want us- not self -sufficient but dependent on You for our daily bread! And You ask us to bring those loaves and two fish to You because it is not our job to feed the five thousand although sometimes, we may think that it is. It is our job to bring all that we have to all that You Are- infinite abundance and infinite love and always enough!

Nothing Will Separate Us

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Nothing Will Separate Us

Jesus: “My daughter, accept everything for My glory. The suffering, the peace in your soul, its anguish and doubts, because all of that will appear in My glory. When your body leaves the earth, you will enjoy this glory with Me, impacting favorably on the souls living on earth. Repeat frequently with the angels, ‘Glory to God.'” (December 2, 1964)

Today’s Readings: Brothers and sisters:
What will separate us from the love of Christ?
Will anguish, or distress, or persecution, or famine,
or nakedness, or peril, or the sword?
No, in all these things we conquer overwhelmingly
through him who loved us.
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor principalities,
nor present things, nor future things,
nor powers, nor height, nor depth,
nor any other creature will be able to separate us
from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Prayer Meditation- Lord today the readings are all about Your Love for us. About how You are moved with pity for us (Matthew 14) and You long to supply what we really need. Because our hearts are restless until they rest in You! (St. Augustine). You take the broken fragments of our lives and gather them up to make something beautiful out of them even as You give us Your all in the breaking of the bread- Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity!. What an exchange- our brokenness and mess offered up in exchange for the Love that will never leave or us forsake us at every Mass. Absolutely nothing, can separate us from Your Love- not life, not death, not disease, not family troubles, and not anxiety because in You we are more than conquerors and we will live with You forever! Let us accept everything for Your Glory and for the salvation of souls because You will never leave us orphans. (John 14:18).

Revive Our Hearts

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Alphonsus Liguori

Revive Our Hearts

But the amazing spiritual force that had revived in me during these moments filled my heart
with an ardent love and the desire that the Flame of Love of the Blessed Virgin be enkindled. (Elizabeth) (February 1, 1963)

Today’s Readings: “See, you lowly ones, and be glad;
you who seek God, may your hearts revive!
For the LORD hears the poor,
and his own who are in bonds he spurns not.” (Psalm 69)

Prayer Meditation- Lord ,we thank You that You have revealed Your Kingdom to the little ones, not the wise and learned (Matthew 11:25). In these times which can be so discouraging, You see Your lowly ones who seek You with their whole hearts! Revive our hearts Lord and fill us with the ardent love and desire to enkindle the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary!

Behold This Heart

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saint Ignatius of Loyola

Behold This Heart

Jesus asked, “Cannot I work a miracle?” “But I am not
worthy, Lord.” “Nevertheless, I will work a miracle. I will so bless the problem which seems
impossible that all will be straightened out.” (Jesus) (August 3, 1962)

Today’s Readings: But Jesus said to them,
“A prophet is not without honor except in his native place
and in his own house.”
And he did not work many mighty deeds there
because of their lack of faith. (Matthew 13)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, have we allowed You to be too familiar? You are fully present in our Churches and in our hearts but yet we take You for granted. We don’t think of You or turn to You in prayer unless we need something- and then it is on our timetable and not Yours! We set up barriers- distrust, unbelief, wanting to have things turn out our way, and even despair. We are afraid that You as God may not be big enough for our problems!  Yet We have not because we ask not! (James 4:3). Lord ,we do not give You honor in Your own house- not in our Churches and not in our hearts! Lord open our eyes to Your Goodness, to Your Heart which has spared us nothing and teaches us to pray with our whole hearts- Jesus I trust in You!

The Potter’s Hand

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thursday of the Seventeenth Week in Ordinary Time

The Potter’s Hand

You, little instrument, be reasonable and totally humble. You are an instrument in our
hands. (Jesus) (December 17, 1962)

Today’s Meditation: This word came to Jeremiah from the LORD:
Rise up, be off to the potter’s house;
there I will give you my message.
I went down to the potter’s house and there he was,
working at the wheel.
Whenever the object of clay which he was making
turned out badly in his hand,
he tried again,
making of the clay another object of whatever sort he pleased.
(Jeremiah 18)

Prayer Meditation- We are but instruments in Your Loving Hands, pieces of clay that You mold into what is pleasing to You if we would but abandon ourselves to You! Lord, an old worship song says it best- Take me, mold me, use me, fill me
I give my life to the potter’s hand. Call me, guide me, lead me, walk beside me
I give my life to the potter’s hand.

Friend Of God

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Memorial of Saints Mary, Martha, and Lazarus

Friend of God

Jesus said, “Is it not true that we now have both gained new strength? I also suffer with you. Could you imagine that I would leave you alone? No! I would never do that. Our souls are always in harmony.” (Jesus) (February 13, 1964)

Today’s Readings: Jesus entered a village
where a woman whose name was Martha welcomed him.
She had a sister named Mary
who sat beside the Lord at his feet listening to him speak. (Luke 10)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we read in the Gospel how You had friends including Martha, Mary, and Lazarus! You are God and yet You want to be our closest friend. The Friend who never lets us down and never lets us go! Lord help us to welcome You into our homes and our hearts and just “waste” time together as we pour out everything on our hearts knowing You will listen! We can be like Martha, Mary, and Lazarus  today and visit You in the Blessed Sacrament and just “hang out”.

Shine Like The Sun

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Seventeenth Week of Ordinary Time

Shine Like The Sun

If they used the Sacrament of Penance to polish these treasures, they would shine again with the light of My graces. But they have no interest and are distracted by the world’s glitter. Whoever does not gather with Me, scatters.” (Jesus) (May 24, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Then the righteous will shine like the sun
in the Kingdom of their Father.
Whoever has ears ought to hear.” (Matthew 13)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, so much of the world can appear dark. World events and news can bring us down and so can our daily lives. We are to be the light but so many of us have our lights under the bushel (Matthew 5:15) of anger, anxiety, worry, despair, fear, and sin. Your light will never shine though us or on us with all of that gunk on the windshield of our souls. Because Lord we don’t like to admit it but with all of that weighing us down we may well find ourselves in the weed category. Even in grace we can have thorns and thistles that we do not let You pluck out entirely. So, let us examine ourselves, if You are not shining through us what is blocking the Sun of Your Grace? Do we need to use the Sacrament of Penance perhaps to polish the treasures we  are trying to hold in our Earthen vessels (2 Corinthians 4:7)? O Lord we can do nothing without You (John 5:15). So let us let You in so that You, the Son and Our Sun will shine again with the light of Your Graces in us and through us for Your Glory and the good of all souls!

From Small Things Big Things Someday Come

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Monday of the Seventeenth Week of Ordinary Time

From Small Things Big Things Someday Come

“Through your smallness and ignorance, and above all through your humility, we want to put our Holy Cause into action through you. Be careful, do not let vainglory come near. That is why I am bringing it to your attention: be very humble, work hard at it. In this way, your efforts will come together.” (Mary) (August 30, 1963)

Today’s Readings: Jesus proposed a parable to the crowds. “The Kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a person took and sowed in a field. It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants. It becomes a large bush, and the ‘birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches.'” (Matthew 13)

Prayer Meditation: Lord, You are not looking for the learned and the wise but the little ones (Matthew 11) to advance Your Kingdom on Earth! We are small, ignorant even, and most days it seems like we have no clue but Lord help us, through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother to be humble and work hard according to our state in life so that the Kingdom will be alive and growing in us!

All Things Work For Good

All Things Work For Good

Now that He spoke to me after a long time, a great joy filled my soul. The spiritual dryness had lasted for so long and my misery had kept me tied to the ground. I accepted this willingly because it was for the good of my soul.(May 1962)

Today’s Readings: Brothers and sisters:
We know that all things work for good for those who love God,
who are called according to his purpose.(Romans 8)

Prayer Meditation- Lord in life there are seasons, seasons of dryness, seasons of circumstances that can seem to last so long they keep you tied to the ground. And it is so easy to turn in and not turn our eyes to Heaven. And yet we know in the good times on the mountaintop and the hard times in the valley You are always there and You never leave even when it seems we cannot find You! It can be hard but we know You allow all things for the good of our souls because all things work for good for those who love You Lord and are called according to Your purpose! And we can hang on Your Word and Your Promises because You are the pearl of great price and You are worth everything we own and are as long as we possess the Kingdom. Fiat Jesus, Thy Will be done!

Perplexed But Not Driven To Despair

Feast of Saint James

“The Evil One wants to make you fall into despair. He will use a ruse to ruin your humility.” (Jesus) (March 16, 1966)

Today’s Readings: Brothers and sisters:

We hold this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing power may be of God and not from us. We are afflicted in every way, but not constrained; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body (2 Corinthians 4)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we so often feel afflicted and perplexed. It is so easy to fall into despair and feel hemmed in on every side by the world, the flesh, and the devil. We are but earthen vessels that hold You, our treasure! Yet if we are in You Lord, we can sing with St. Paul with all of our hearts that we are not constrained, we are not driven to despair, we are not abandoned, and we are not destroyed because Your power lives in us!
