At The Cross- I Surrender My Life

A great battle awaits you, but you will conquer in the sign of the Cross. Do not be distracted when you make the sign of the Cross. (Jesus) (April 8, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Jesus summoned the crowd with his disciples and said to them,
“Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself,
take up his cross, and follow me.
For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it,
but whoever loses his life for my sake
and that of the Gospel will save it.
What profit is there for one to gain the whole world
and forfeit his life? (Mark 8)

Prayer Meditation- Lord today we are reminded that we are to take up our cross and follow You. We have heard this likely most of our Christian walk but what does this really mean? We all have crosses- family difficulties, work problems health issues, daily annoyances. We all picture ourselves doing big things for You but the fact of the matter is the great battle is in the everyday things we do and endure. Do we do so with faith and trust or with complaining, fault finding, and grumbling (Philippians 2: 14)?. Do we make the sign of the Cross yet let distractions derail us on a daily basis? Lord help us to truly follow You- willing to lose what is in the way of our walk with You because we know that if we surrender to You we will conquer in the sign of the Cross! May You be ever praised!
