Give Your YES This Lent to Our Lady

As a new Catholic convert in 2010, I didn’t yet grasp that I was stepping into a journey—the journey—of the soul. Though I had been baptized and had spent over a decade attending Sunday Mass with my husband and children, actively participating in the liturgy, I hadn’t reached a point of true surrender. I hadn’t fully reconciled that my life was no longer my own. It wasn’t until my Confirmation that I began to understand: I had been ransomed, purchased by the boundless love of Jesus Christ, so that through the gift of Baptism, I’m adopted—fully chosen—into His family. Looking back, I see that time of conversion as a kind of honeymoon phase, alive with the same vibrancy and excitement I felt in my marriage. How generous God is to reveal His life to us through the sacrament of Holy Matrimony.

Something truly striking occurred during the “honeymoon” phase of my conversion. While I was in adoration, basking in the newness of my faith, the Lord quietly spoke to my heart. He invited me to deepen my love for Him by turning to His Mother. I was kneeling in adoration, the Blessed Sacrament glowing softly before me, when a whisper brushed my heart: “Learn to love Me more.” How? I would plead… “go ask my Mother.”

Now, as a newbie Catholic, this threw me for a loop. Mary? I’d seen those pious folks clutching their rosaries, eyes misty with devotion, and—forgive me—I’d judged them. Out of ignorance, of course. I didn’t get it. So, I ignored that whisper for months. I was too busy savoring my shiny new sacramental life, fresh out of RCIA, and this nudge felt like a chore I didn’t sign up for. What did Jesus even want me to do with it?

Then, one day, while gazing at the Blessed Sacrament in adoration, I gave in with a quiet, simple “yes” .

That YES plunged me into something indescribable… it gave me a new perspective, another side of the God’s Merciful Love, which gave me another side of myself, my identity. My YES to Mary allowed me to look at the hard stuff, the ugly stuff in my life that needed maternal tenderness. Jesus knows we need a mother, and so the first place he wanted to take me was to Her. That single word, YES, has since transformed my entire life. Why? Because God’s plan can unfold in our souls when we surrender our will. Who better to give everything to than the one who gave us everything!

This quiet whispering YES started small with the Pilgrim Queen Visits. Picture this: Our Lady of Guadalupe home shrine (we also have a Flame of Love Traveling Queen), coming to our house each month like a royal guest. My family gathered—awkwardly at first—rosaries in hand, praying to honor Jesus and His Mother. Those visits lit a spark in our domestic church, warming our hearts to something bigger. But the real game-changer? Marian Consecration. That same day I whispered my yes in adoration, Jesus made it crystal clear: This is what I want for you. Not just a casual nod to Mary, but a full-on, heart-in-hands surrender.

Marian Consecration cracked me open. It wasn’t easy. In fact it took me three years—three years!—of wrestling, praying, and leaning into Her before I could hand over everything, my marriage, my children, my life. It taught me to love more sacrificially then ever before. Giving Mary my hurts and battles allowed me to give without counting the cost. I knew that now, my meager offerings were mighty in the hands of Mother Mary and i wanted to do more and more to serve and “offer it up”.

All this is not just reserved for me, Mary is your Mother too! Mary is the Mother of all humanity and as the dispenser of grace, all people of goodwill may consecrate their lives to Mary, just as all are invite to receive the Flame of Love!

“Our entire perfection consists in being conformed, united and consecrated to Jesus Christ. Hence the most perfect of all devotions is undoubtedly that which conforms, unites and consecrates us most perfectly to Jesus Christ. Now, since Mary is of all creatures the one most conformed to Jesus Christ, it follows that among all devotions that which most consecrates and conforms a soul to our Lord is devotion to Mary, his Holy Mother, and that the more a soul is consecrated to her the more it will be consecrated to Jesus Christ.” St Louis de Montfort

Following Marian Consecration, I received the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. If Marian Consecration was the door, this was the fire inside! It’s Jesus Himself, blazing out from Mary’s heart, a gift so simple yet so torrential as it’s meant for every soul—Baptized or not. She obtained this grace to blind Satan, to pull hearts back to her Son, to knit us all together. It’s not complicated, but it’s everything. Grace helps us desire virtue and to love one another with family or familial love as children of God. This level of love will magnify the urgency in a soul to spread the Flame of Love even more! Constantly invoking Mary’s Maternal Flame into everyone and everything, spreading it heart to heart.

Anthony Mullen, First US National Coordinator of the Flame of Love IHM and founder of Children of the Father, writes;

“The reality is that we regularly fail to see our dear Lord in each person, especially those who are different or whom we do not connect with, or those who have traits which turn us off or displease us. But Charity is the essential Virtue, it is the whole key to the spiritual life and the transforming union we seek!”

Anthony was an international advocate of Marion Consecration and his foundation was instrumental in leading not thousands, but over a million souls to Jesus through Mary! Unfortunately, his website is no longer active, but I encourage you to read his blog. I often consult his writing and ask his intercession for us, may he rest in peace.

Through Marian Consecration and the Flame of Love IHM we ask Mary to extinguish sin and darkness from our lives and that’s exactly what She does! On March 25th,  Holy Mother Church honors Our Lady’s YES on the Solemnity of the Annunciation of Our Lord. This solemnity is perfectly placed at the half way point of Lent this year and I can’t help but think that this echoes consolation right from Mary’s heart, saying YES… KEEP GOING TOWARDS MY SON. And so, I say yes again and invite you this Lent to join me and many others on this journey of Marian Consecration through the method of St. Louis de Montfort and Elizabeth Kindelmann. FIAT!

Thank you for your dedication in spreading the Flame of Love Immaculate Heart of Mary. Praying for and with you all.

SET ABLAZE the FULLNESS of GRACE!

THIS LENT, JOIN US for TOTAL CONSECRATION to MARY

SET ABLAZE the FULLNESS of GRACE!

Starting March 11th and ending on Palm Sunday, April 13th –Anniversary date that Elizabeth Kindelmann was given the Flame of Love

As Lent approaches, we invite you to TOTAL CONSECRATION to Jesus through Mary in the Flame of Love—a perfect renewal of our Baptismal vows. Accompanied by St. Louis de Montfort’s “Total Consecration,” we walk with Elizabeth Kindelmann as we witness her journey toward spiritual maturity. Marian Consecration and the Flame of Love are intertwined because consecration gives Mother Mary our fiat to form Christ, within us. The Flame of Love, Jesus coming from Her Immaculate Heart, blinds satan and brings the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart.

This is Heaven’s gift. Are you ready to receive it?

Join us for a transformative 33-day TOTAL CONSECRATION to Jesus through Mary in the Flame of Love from March 11th to April 13th (Palm Sunday, the anniversary of Elizabeth Kindelmann receiving the Flame of Love). This promises to be unlike any other, SETTING ABLAZE the FULLNESS OF GRACE within us.

“As all perfection consists in our being conformed, united and consecrated to Jesus, it naturally follows that the most perfect of all devotions is that which conforms, unites and consecrates us most completely to Jesus.  Now of all God’s creatures, Mary is the most conformed to Jesus.  It therefore follows that of all devotions, devotion to her makes for the most effective consecration and conformity to Him.  The more one is consecrated to Mary, the more one is consecrated to Jesus.  That is why perfect consecration to Jesus is but a perfect and complete consecration of oneself to the Blessed Virgin, which is the devotion I teach; or in other words, it is the perfect renewal of the vows and promises of Holy Baptism.” St. Louis de Montfort

Together, let us embrace these Flame of Love practices this Lent, it will water the soil of our hearts so it may grow and bear fruit toward a stronger and loving relationship with Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother.

In the Spiritual Diary of Elizabeth Kindlemann, Jesus and Mary teach us how to amend our lives through reparation and of course, a lot of grace!

Perhaps you are just learning about the Flame of Love, or you have not yet put into practice some of the devotional elements. Lent is the perfect time to fan the Flame and incorporate these practices.

Flame of Love Devotional Practices and Prayers:

1. Memorize the Unity Prayer and pray it throughout the day.

Jesus said, “Through this prayer, Satan will be blind and souls will not be led into sin.

Page 25 of the Full Diary

The Unity Prayer illuminates the path to Calvary. Praying it, we unite with Jesus and share His cross. Let us learn this prayer that allows us to blind Satan and save souls.

2. Enter into the Weekly Agenda

Jesus: “My daughter, I’m now going to specify how each day of the week should be allocated. . . . Come, if you have time. If you have plenty of it, tell Me. The decision is yours. I respect your free will completely. You flatter Me if you abandon it spontaneously to Me.

Page 24 Full Diary

Have you considered how you spend your days in light of Jesus and Mary’s call in the diary? Now is the perfect time to start! Even small steps, like dedicating one day a week, can make a difference

3. Pray with others in a Cenacle of Reparation

There are many opportunities to join us in prayer during Lent and the entire year. We have on-line virtual prayer groups and in-person groups though out the entire world! When we come together to pray, Mary pours out Her Flame of Love Graces over all of humanity and satan is blinded.

Find a Cenacle that you can attend during Lent.

Join Us for our Monthly National Cenacle.

4. Pray a Night Vigil in the Perpetual Vigil Room

A night prayer vigil can be offered for 5 minutes or 5 hours! Some people set their alarms to wake in the night, others awaken on their own. There is no right or wrong way to pray in a night vigil. All that is needed is our desire to do so for the sake of love.

Pray for guidance on how to offer your Lenten sacrifices. Ask for the grace to discern what you can do in your current circumstances. If you’re thinking about fasting, the Weekly Agenda can offer helpful suggestions.

2025 Global Theme is Announced

International Director Announces 2025 Theme…

As I write, most of you will have passed into 2025. Here in New York, we are still keeping vigil for the great Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God – an utterly astounding title. Yes, I never cease to be astounded by the first chapter of both the Gospel of Saint John and his first letter. The depth of love, of condescension, of humility is incomprehensible.

This love is so poignantly portrayed in Saint Paul’s words to Timothy when he tells is that God “desires all men to be saved.” (I Timothy 2:4) Yet we know that, like the Pharisees in Luke 7:30, man in his freedom can frustrate the plan of God since, for love to be perfect, it must be free.

And this same poignant and powerful proclamation of love is echoed in the heart and cry of our Blessed Mother in the first words she speaks when she gives the Flame of Love of her Immaculate Heart for the first time on April 13, 1962 and which provides our theme for this new year: “There is so much sin in the country. Help me to save it!” Yes, “HELP ME SAVE THE COUNTRY!”

I hear this cry in my ears every morning when I awaken. Each night, I need to answer Jesus: “Take part in My redeeming work without ceasing. Don’t ask how. Desire that My Kingdom come for you and for every soul. When you go to retire for the night, look over your entire day: What have you done for the coming of My Kingdom?” April 20, 1962

My dearest brothers and sisters, we are compelled by this same love (II Cor 5:14). What a sublime calling! I feel very strongly and I know that Győző feels the same, that the most important thing we can do right now to answer our Blessed Mother’s call to “Help me save the country” is to ensure all of our people, all of our cenacles, understand the scope and the purpose of the Flame of Love – “Help me save the COUNTRY”.

If our people believe that the goal is to create prayer groups for a new prayer devotion or that the goal is to enhance our own spirituality, that is exactly what we will do and we will have a rapidly growing, spiritually powerful prayer devotion. That’s not “Help me save the country”. Please don’t misunderstand me. Our prayer cenacles are important and powerful. Our family cenacles are even more important but they are the matches and not the fire. They are the tools and not the goal. If we only focus on the tool, we will not achieve the goal.

Not everyone in the world will join a Flame of Love cenacle nor every person in the Church – there are many other jobs to be done in the Church besides participating in a Flame of Love cenacle. But everyone in the Church and in the world needs The Flame of Love! “You must strive for the blinding of Satan, which we will accomplish with the coordinated strength of the whole world.” November 27, 1963

When we all start pulling together in the same direction – through prayer, sacrifice, desire, and, where we can, labor for the Flame of Love to light in all hearts, (“So line up side by side, because the flame burning by hellish hatred will break on the power of sacrifice and prayer. The evil ones will be driven back more and more, their flame burning by hatred will go out, and the light of my Flame of Love will fill every part of the world.” December 6, 1964), then we can help our Blessed Mother “light in the entire country the flame full of grace, which I have given you from my Heart. This will be the miracle which catches fire and will blind Satan.” April 13, 1962.

So please help every one of our people in each one of your countries understand and work toward the goal – not just to pray, sacrifice, and desire that people join our prayer cenacles but to pray, sacrifice, and desire that the Flame of Love light in all hearts in our countries. With all our being, let us answer our Blessed Mother’s cry: “HELP ME SAVE THE COUNTRY!” That is our theme for 2025.

In case you find it helpful, I have posted the above portion of this email to https://www.flameoflove.info/posts/help-me-save-the-country/

JESUS LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER

“The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.  Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:6-7

In 2024, we have been blessed by the tremendous growth of the Flame of Love IHM throughout the nation! As we approach Fall and begin considering events and materials for 2025, it has become clear that we have hit a critical need for donations.

Monsignor Ralph Chieffo, US Board President and former National Spiritual Advisor, encourages us to be cheerful givers as the Flame of Love IHM Movement ignites across the United States.

“I praise God the Father for sending us Jesus conceived in the womb of Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit.  This outpouring of divine love and mercy blesses us with the gift of salvation and a share in our divine call to be saints.  Living a sacramental life unites us to Christ and his Mother, the Church.  The gift we receive in his Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity is the gift we give to those hungering for meaning and purpose for their life.  Like our Blessed Mother, we can enkindle in others the Flame of Love, heart-to-heart.

Elizabeth Kindelmann discovered that when she prayed for God’s plan for her life, Jesus blessed her with his divine presence in the Eucharist to grace and guide her to grow in faith, hope and love. In adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, she developed trust in clergy and laity to believe that our Lord chose her to receive and promote the messages of the Flame of Love.”

Saint Paul encourages all disciples of Jesus Christ to rejoice in the Lord always and be a cheerful giver.  Only by offering to others the presence, power and peace flowing from the effects of the grace of the Flame of Love in our hearts can we be Missionary Disciples of Jesus and Mary.

As our membership grows, we need everyone to pray, share and financially support the rising cost of prayer cards, books and events to promote the Flame of Love.  Take time before the Blessed Sacrament to thank God for the blessings you have received and ask our Lord how you can spiritually and financially give back with a “cheerful spirit.”

“I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.”

+++

The Flame of Love IHM Apostolate is World Wide and is 100% volunteer run! This is an incredible testimony of the Blessed Mother’s Cause for souls, as we witness the dedication of our leaders and all those who spread this great grace. The need for formation materials is mounting and our participation in larger National events is requested, yet extremely costly. If we want to continue to see the Flame of Love spread, we need your help and support. When you donate to the Flame of Love, you will ensure that this Flame continues to burn throughout our country by helping us to provide the resources for parishes and families.

What ever you can offer is greatly appreciated! If it is possible for you to offer a monthly donation, we humbly ask that you would consider this option. Having your committed support allows us to better plan for our future.

Please visit our DONATION page and THANK YOU for spreading the Flame of Love.

Dear Lord Jesus, everything that we have, was given to us from the abundance of Your Love so that we may share freely, never counting the cost. Thank you for taking care of us, Your little children, with great generosity. Amen.

Welcoming Mary Into Our Home

Submitted by Dr. Chris Wroe

Mary is a mother.  She gave birth to a son, Jesus.  Jesus entrusted John with the responsibility for her care at the foot of the cross.  Now, we are asked to welcome His mother into our homes and into our hearts as our Mother.  Like all mothers, she knows the joy and pain of motherhood.  We should never forget that Mary, “Queen of Heaven and Earth” is also our Heavenly Mother and feels our happiness and our pain.  As she says to Elizabeth Kindelmann, her suffering did not end with the death of Jesus, it continues for all her children (including you and me), whom she sees being deceived by Satan and whose souls could be lost forever.  Mary is our Mother, and she asks for our help.

Mary asks us, through Elizabeth, to help her to spread her “flame of love” throughout the world, starting in the home, family by family.  We cannot ignore the constant downgrading of the Christian model of ‘family’ with the growing acceptance within society for people living together without marrying; same gender unions; people having several sexual partners and loose definitions of morality.  In short, society is increasingly keen to embrace whatever form of relationship you decide will work best for you and reaffirms it is no-one else’s business.  In a world where belief in God is steadily declining how can we expect any moral code to be taken seriously that impinges on individual choice’?  Consequently, notions of ‘family’ and ‘morality’ are relentlessly under challenge, particularly in the more developed societies,

Mary is The Ark’.  She wants Elizabeth, and us, to join her in praying for all her children to know they do belong to a very special family, the family of God.  She mentions, with affection, Joseph, her husband, and tells Elizabeth to ask for his help every day.  She recalls how while he worked in the evening, she would be praying and invites Elizabeth to join them on their nightly walks – it speaks of her loving respect and devotion to her husband, parents to Jesus, “the Holy Family” in the gospel of Matthew.  Mary longs to protect us from the snares of Satan and this is why she is bestowing this wonderful grace of “the flame of love” upon her children, blinding the demons so they can be freed from the confusion and evil influences surrounding their choices to see God’s love for them and the true beauty of His creation for them.

Mary is on our side in the battle between good and evil that many fail to recognize is happening. She is ‘ The Ark’ we need to embrace, the bringer of ‘The Flame of Love’ (that is Jesus), to set our hearts on fire with love for God, our Father, when we see the greatness of His love for us.  Mary, Mother most loving, wants all of us, her children, to find our way ‘home’, to Heaven.  So, like the apostle John, let our hearts be ready to welcome the Mother of Jesus, our Lord and our God, in praise and thanksgiving.  Mary’s heart, bursting with love, is bringing Jesus into our world again!

Living in the Spirit- Real Time

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Monday of the Sixth Week of Easter

Living in the Spirit- Real Time

Jesus: “And I tell you: From now on, no longer speak of yourself. The ‘I’ in you must cease completely. Let there be only Me for you. That is your real life.” (Jesus) (May 16, 1963)

Today’s Readings: Today’s Readings: Jesus said to his disciples: “When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me. And you also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning. (John 15)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You have promised that You will send the Advocate. In fact, if we are baptized and confirmed You indeed have. Lord sometimes it gets so confusing- there are the gifts and the fruits but we can so often wonder if any of this is actually working in our lives. Yet Lord, You meant for Your Spirit to guide us in our real lives, real time! Lord, send us anew Your Spirit of Truth- let Him testify to You so that we can testify that this same Spirit that rose Jesus from the grave lives in us! (Romans 8:11) Come Holy Spirit with all of Your Gifts- let Your Peace rule in our hearts (Colossians 3:15).

SUNDAY, MAY 10, 2026 – SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

NO LONGER ORPHANS (Jn 14:15-21)

Prayer:

O Jesus, send me the Spirit of Truth.

Imagination:

Picture Jesus at the Last Supper with the apostles.

Context:.

Jesus promises that the Holy Spirit will abide among his apostles, but only if they keep his commandments.
The apostles will even know the Spirit who abides with them. Through the Holy Spirit, Jesus will come to the apostles and they will not be abandoned orphans.

Gospel text: (Read slowly, possibly aloud)

Thoughts: (Read all. Ponder the ones that attract you.)

  1. Jesus explains these deepest mysteries.
  2. First, the disciples must love Jesus and keep his commandments.
  3. If they do this, they will receive another Paraclete (Jesus is the first one).
  4. Only disciples of Jesus will receive the Holy Spirit, not the world.
  5. The Spirit will abide permanently, and the disciples will get to know him.
  6. Jesus Himself will stay with the disciples and not leave them orphans.
  7. Unlike the world, the disciples will see Jesus and live.

Affections. (When one touches your heart, use your own words.)

  • O Jesus, Your gift is complete.  In you, I see the Father and through you, I receive the Spirit.
  • Help me to love you and to keep your commandments.
  • Come, come, Holy Spirit!  Abide with me.  Stay and remain.  I will get to know you.
  • O Jesus, with You in my Heart, I will never be an orphan.
  • O Jesus, you give me gifts which you withhold from the world.
  • I can see you and live in you.

Resolutions: (Possibly you might want to make your own.)

+ I will constantly say “Come Holy Spirit.”
+ I will recall that Jesus’ Spirit lives within me.

Thought for the Day: (To recall your meditation.)

Come Holy Spirit

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Sixth Sunday of Easter

Come Holy Spirit

Jesus: “Now, you must endure the suffering and darkness which My disciples experienced after My death. But as I sent the Holy Spirit upon them, I will also send Him upon all those for whom you must suffer. Now, in the middle of the sufferings, you comprehend what you did not understand before. This miracle is the repeated coming of the Holy Spirit that many await, and the light of His grace will spread and penetrate the whole earth” (Jesus) (May 15, 1965)

Today’s Readings: “I have told you this while I am with you. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you. (John 14)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, we read how You spent time with the Apostles, getting them ready not only for what was to come soon, Your Death, but also the coming of The Holy Spirit! You promised that The Holy Spirit would come and remind them of all You told them. You make that same promise to us too- but are we asking for the Holy Spirit to come into our hearts? Are we asking for His Gifts given to us at Baptism and Confirmation? Are we manifesting His Fruits? Lord particularly in these times, we can feel like we are walking in darkness. But we are never alone and You are always with us! Lord, help us to offer our daily suffering and darkness in union with You for the salvation of many souls! Come Holy Spirit! Come by the means of the Power of the Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary!

SATURDAY, MAY 9, 2026 – FIFTH WEEK OF EASTER

THE WORLD’S HATRED (Jn 15:18-21)

Prayer:

O Jesus, help me to be a servant who is just like his master.

Imagination:

Picture Jesus with his apostles at the Last Supper
.

Context:.

Jesus begins a long teaching about how this unity between the disciples and himself will arouse the world’s hatred. The world has hated Jesus and will hate his chosen disciples. In this text, Jesus makes a very sharp distinction between his disciples and the world.

Gospel text: (Read slowly, possibly aloud)

Thoughts: (Read all. Ponder the ones that attract you.)

  1. When they preach the gospel, the disciples will be hated by the world.
  2. The world will persecute them because they do not belong to the world any longer.
  3. Being aligned with Jesus, the disciples are unacceptable to the world.
  4. How blessed are the disciples.  Jesus has chosen them out of the world.
  5. Persecution is such a small price to pay to be Jesus’ disciple.
  6. The world is consistent in its hatred.  Having persecuted Jesus, it will persecute his disciples.
  7. All this hatred happens because the world does not know the Father Who sent Jesus.

Affections. (When one touches your heart, use your own words.)

  • O Jesus, if I love you, the world will not love me.  What a small price!
  • What more could I ask? A servant wants to be treated like the Master.
  • You have chosen me, and taken me away from the world.
  •  I have said my “Goodbyes.”  I have parted company.  I am with you forever.
  • Being persecuted for your name is greater than any worldly honor.
  • Jesus, the one who sent you is now my Father. You have made me his child.

Resolutions: (Possibly you might want to make your own.)

+ Today, I will rejoice to think, “Jesus has chosen me out of the world.”
+ If people do not understand me, I will think of how the world misunderstood Jesus.

Thought for the Day: (To recall your meditation.)

Chosen Out Of The World

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Saturday of the Fifth Week of Easter

Chosen Out Of The World

“That first meeting was the great step, My little one, when My Mother entrusted you to Me in a special way. Since then, My little one, you have been flying like an arrow towards Me. In your flight, never turn to look back at earth so that the world’s noisedoes not bother you.” (Jesus) (April 8, 1962)

Today’s Readings: Today’s Readings: Jesus said to his disciples: “If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world. (John 15)

Prayer Meditation- Lord, You have chosen us out of the world. Not to go live in some cloister somewhere, at least most of us who live in families and have jobs and are living the day to day life. But You have called us to come away from the world’s noise and to keep our eyes fixed on You in our sojourn here on Earth. Lord, many of us have felt it as we grow closer to You- friends and family who don’t “get” all the changes in us. Or how we view what was so important to us before in our work and our entertainments as so much straw! (Thomas Aquinas). Lord help us not to look back but to look up because we are Your children now- what we will be we do not know but we know we will be like You! (1 John 3:2). Help us to fly to You Lord today!

FRIDAY, MAY 8, 2026 – FIFTH WEEK OF EASTER

NOW CALLED FRIENDS (Jn 15:12-17)

Prayer:

O Jesus, I seek only to be your friend.

Imagination:

Picture Jesus teaching at the Last Supper
.

Context:.

After showering his own love upon the disciples, Jesus asks that they love one another. Before asking for this love, he has made them his friends and has chosen them for an important task.

Gospel text: (Read slowly, possibly aloud)

Thoughts: (Read all. Ponder the ones that attract you.)

  1. Loving others as you love yourself is no longer enough.  Jesus gives a new commandment.
  2. You must love others as Jesus loves you.
  3. In his total love, Jesus is willing to lay down his life.
  4. Jesus has raised you to a new level. You are no longer his servant. You are his friend.
  5. You are his friend simply because he chose you.
  6. Because you are his friend, he reveals all his mysteries.
  7. You have one task – to fulfill God’s purpose in your life.

Affections. (When one touches your heart, use your own words.)

  • Jesus, you loved me before I loved you.
  • Help me to love others even before they love me.
  • O Jesus, “I will lay down my life for you”. (Jn 13:37)
  • What a gift – to be your friend!
  • Reveal all your secrets to me, Jesus.   I will be attentive and listen closely.
  • O Jesus, you have a task for me. Speak, Lord, I am listening.

Resolutions: (Possibly you might want to make your own.)

+ I will value my new status of being a friend of Jesus.
+ Being Jesus’ friend, I will seek to know what he wants of me.

Thought for the Day: (To recall your meditation.)

THURSDAY, MAY 7, 2026 – FIFTH WEEK OF EASTER

REMAINING IN THE VINE (Jn 15:9-11)

Prayer:

O Jesus, stay with me, and my life will produce good fruit.

Imagination:

Picture Jesus teaching at the Last Supper
.

Context:.

Jesus’ first priority is his unity with his disciples. From this oneness comes all blessings, both for the disciples and for the world. The disciples must make a choice to stay with Jesus. This decision is filled with frightening consequences. They will either be cast out into the fire or bear fruit.

Gospel text: (Read slowly, possibly aloud)

Thoughts: (Read all. Ponder the ones that attract you.)

  1. Jesus highlights the disciple’s decision. Although chosen by Jesus, the disciple must freely decide to remain in him.
  2. The wrong choice is devastating. Like everyone else, they will be cast out into the fire of hell.
  3. Making the right choice merits the greatest blessings – complete access to God.
  4. The Father himself initiates their union with Jesus. He loves Jesus and Jesus loves the disciple.
  5. The union is completed by the disciple keeping the Father’s commandments.
  6. Abiding in Jesus brings an indescribable joy.

Affections. (When one touches your heart, use your own words.)

  • O Jesus, I give you my consent. Claim me for yourself.
  • Losing you, Jesus is an unthinkable disaster. Never let it happen.
  • You attract me. You entice me. You call me to yourself.
  • You offer me the Father’s love and say, “This is yours if you want it.”
  • O Jesus, place your commands in my heart. They are the doors to the Father.
  • You pour out your joy – complete and total – earthly and heavenly – for now and forever.

Resolutions: (Possibly you might want to make your own.)

+ I will recall that the Father’s love for Jesus can be mine, also.
+ I will struggle to keep the commandments, never growing discouraged by my sins.

Thought for the Day: (To recall your meditation.)

Complete Joy

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Thursday of the Fifth Week of Easter

Complete Joy

“Be My servant! Be always joyful! Every day that you serve Me must be a feast. Do not let anyone or anything that disturbs your cheerful spirit come near your soul. Take good care of your nuptial garment and let it radiate happiness. Wherever you go, let it be felt that you partake every day in the heavenly banquet (Jesus) (August 16, 1962)

Today’s Readings: If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love,
just as I have kept my Father’s commandments
and remain in his love. “I have told you this so that
my joy might be in you and
your joy might be complete. (John 15)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord so often we do not think of this about You but You really want to have joy in us- complete joy! I have heard it said that a sure sign of the Holy Spirit in a soul is joy! And in Your Word You tell us that the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10), that joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30) and that joy is the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5). So why often do we let life steal our joy? Lord may we have a cheerful spirit and may we radiate happiness because we partake every day in the heavenly banquet at Mass if we so choose and as St. Teresa of Avila has said so perfectly save us from gloomy saints!

WEDNESDAY, MAY 6, 2026 – FIFTH WEEK OF EASTER

THE VINE AND THE BRANCHES (Jn 15:1-5)

Prayer:

Bring forth your fruits in me.

Imagination:

Picture Jesus at the Last Supper
.

Context:.

Jesus begins a long discourse, which the apostles do not interrupt by any questions. In this text, Jesus uses the imagery of vine and branches, highlighting the necessity of the disciples being one with Jesus.

Gospel text: (Read slowly, possibly aloud)

Thoughts: (Read all. Ponder the ones that attract you.)

  1. Jesus seeks the fruit of a devout life that brings forth prayer and virtues.
  2. If a soul brings forth good works the Father prunes it.
  3. The Father (the vinedresser) does everything to gain more fruit from the vine.
  4. Every branch must “abide”. A cut-off branch can bring forth no fruit.
  5. Jesus says it perfectly, “I am the vine. You are the branches.”
  6. His conclusion is self-evident. “Whoever abides in me brings forth much fruit.”

Affections. (When one touches your heart, use your own words.)

  • Jesus, you alone are the vine that gives life. I will abide in you.
  • I once was a dead branch, but you have grafted me onto yourself. Now, I bear fruit.
  • Father, prune away all that is lifeless in me.
  • Jesus, I want to bring forth greater virtues, pleasing to you.
  • Jesus, I only need to abide in you. You do the rest.
  • With you, all things are possible. This is the secret of staying with you.

Resolutions: (Possibly you might want to make your own.)

+ I will abide with Jesus by thinking of him often today.
+ I will dedicate this whole day to Jesus.

Thought for the Day: (To recall your meditation.)

Staying Connected

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Wednesday of the Fifth Week of Easter

Staying Connected

Did you forget that I wanted you to renounce all distracting literature? Let your life be one of contemplation, prayer and sacrifice. (Jesus) (September 2, 1963)

Today’s Gospel: Today’s Readings: Jesus said to his disciples: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine grower. He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and everyone that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit. (John 15)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord, there is so much in our world that distracts us from Your Voice and Your Will. Our time on Earth is short and distractions are just wasted time! Help us to stay connected to You, the One True Vine by prayer and by offering every moment to You! Let us not just take up space but may we truly bear fruit (Galatians 5)! May we stay connected to You as we unplug from the world.

TUESDAY, MAY 5, 2026 – FIFTH WEEK OF EASTER

JESUS’ FAREWELL GIFT (Jn 14:27-31)

Prayer:

O Jesus, fill me with your total peace.

Imagination:

Picture Jesus teaching his disciples at the Last Supper
.

Context:.

This gospel concludes Jesus’ teaching at the Last Supper. He tries to prepare the apostles in two ways. First, he promises to place a lasting peace in their hearts. Second, he explains that his death results from his battle with Satan, the prince of this world. Jesus suffers because he is obedient to the Father.

Gospel text: (Read slowly, possibly aloud)

Thoughts: (Read all. Ponder the ones that attract you.)

  1. The heart of Jesus is broken. Obeying the Father entails leaving the apostles in great distress.
  2. He tries to soften this hardship by filling their hearts with peace.
  3. His “going away” is just for “a little while”, the three days in the tomb.
  4. He will come back.  Only Jesus could do that.
  5. They must try to enter into Jesus’ joy.  He will be returning to the Father.
  6. He prophesies all these events, so that they believe.
  7. He must stop speaking.  The battle is at hand, the eternal combat between Jesus and Satan.
  8. His death on the cross will prove to the whole world that he loves the Father.

Affections. (When one touches your heart, use your own words.)

  • O Jesus, your heart is always broken for me in all my trials.
  • Fill me with your peace.
  • O Jesus, for a little while you have “gone away”.
  • Come back, Jesus.  Return soon.
  • By your words, I know you live within me.
  • O Jesus, all your words have proven true.  I believe.
  • I see your arms, extended on the cross, in obedience to your Father.
  • You have destroyed my adversary, Satan.  You have won the victory for me.

Resolutions: (Possibly you might want to make your own.)

+ I will try to understand Jesus’ infinite love for me.
+ I will seek his peace so I can serve him.

Thought for the Day: (To recall your meditation.)

Peace He Gives Us

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Tuesday of the Fifth Week of Easter

Peace He Gives Us

Jesus: “Calm down, My little one. There is no reason to lose the peace of your soul over such a question. (Jesus) (September 1, 1964)

Today’s Readings: Jesus said to his disciples: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. (John 14)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord so many things disturb our peace- questions, worries, fears, our own weaknesses and sins. On our own we are shipwrecked. Yet You always bring Your Peace- no matter what questions we have or fears that trouble us. You calm the seas of our souls. Let us call on You Jesus and not let our hearts ever be troubled!

MONDAY, MAY 4, 2026 – FIFTH WEEK OF EASTER

REVEALED TO THE DISCIPLES (Jn 14:21-26)

Prayer:

O Jesus, send me the Holy Spirit who will teach me all things.

Imagination:

Picture Jesus at the Last Supper with his apostles.

Context:.

Jesus has promised that the apostles would see him. In this text, he explains that this seeing will not be an external manifestation, but an internal, religious experience. These gifts are new and the Spirit will explain them. For now, they must be at peace.

Gospel text: (Read slowly, possibly aloud)

Thoughts: (Read all. Ponder the ones that attract you.)

  1. This is an important question, “Why does not the whole world see Jesus?  Why does Jesus reveal himself only to these disciples?”
  2. Jesus and the Father are revealed internally.  Only a disciple who loves God can receive this revelation.
  3. Keeping the commandments prepares the disciple’s heart to be God’s dwelling place.
  4. After coming to the disciple, Jesus will send the “Paraclete”, the Holy Spirit.
  5. This Spirit will teach and remind the disciples of Jesus’ teaching.
  6. The final result is a peace, which removes all fear from their hearts.

Affections. (When one touches your heart, use your own words.)

  • O Jesus, what a great mystery!  You manifest yourself to me but not to the world.
  • If I love you, you and the Father will come and abide with me.
  • O Jesus, send your Spirit into my heart.  He will teach me.
  • O Jesus, let your peace burst forth and flood my whole being.
  • O Holy Spirit, how can I grow troubled when you abide with me?

Resolutions: (Possibly you might want to make your own.)

+ I will treasure the presence of Father, Son and Spirit in my soul.
+ I will seek quiet moments, so the Spirit can teach me.

Thought for the Day: (To recall your meditation.)

Dwelling In Him

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Monday of the Fifth Week of Easter

Dwelling In Him

Jesus: “I’ll wait for you at home. When you arrive, I will be in our little dwelling.” (Jesus) (September 1, 1963)

Today’s Readings: Jesus answered and said to him,
“Whoever loves me will keep my word,
and my Father will love him,
and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him. (John 14)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, we love You, we adore You and we thank You because You have promised that whoever loves You will keep Your Word and You will love him and make Your Dwelling with him. And that the Holy Spirit will come and teach and remind us of everything You have taught us and want to teach us. O Lord, You want to dwell in our souls not just in Heaven but on Earth and You wait for us in the little homes of our hearts and souls if we would just open the door because You stand at the door and knock! (Revelations 3). It is in You that we live and move and have our being (Acts 17) even as we hold these treasures You give us in jars of clay (2 Corinthians 4). Our God, Our Father, Our Savior, and Our Closest Friend with total love and confidence in You and may You make Your dwelling in us! Breathe in our breathing, think in our thinking, speak in our speaking for Your Glory God and for the good of all souls!

SUNDAY, MAY 3, 2026 – FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER

THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE (JN 14:1-12)

Prayer:

Jesus, bring me to the heavenly mansion which you have prepared for me.

Imagination:

Picture Jesus teaching at the Last Supper
.

Context:.

The scene now shifts dramatically. Jesus is still in Jerusalem but no longer teaching the crowds. He has just completed the Last Supper and gives these extensive teachings only to his apostles, who will soon experience his leaving them.

Gospel text: (Read slowly, possibly aloud)

Thoughts: (Read all. Ponder the ones that attract you.)

  1. After speaking about his death, Jesus uses these words to calm the disciples’ fears.
  2. Jesus never wants our “hearts to be troubled.”
  3. Jesus’ death will be his door into glory.
  4. Jesus has a place for them in his glory.
  5. He will come back and take them to himself.
  6. Without realizing it, they even know the way.
  7. Thomas’ question brings the full revelation. Jesus is the way into the Father’s glory.

Affections. (When one touches your heart, use your own words.)

  • Jesus, how I need you to calm my fears.
  • You always whisper in my heart, ‘Do not be troubled. Do not be troubled.”
  • O Jesus, you have entered into glory. Carry me there in your heart.
  • You will come back for me. I await you with great hope.
  • I can even set out, because I know the way.
  • You are the way and I will follow you.
  • You are the fullness of all reality. You are all in all.

Resolutions: (Possibly you might want to make your own.)

+ In difficult moments, I will walk by faith’s light.
+ I will refuse to take any other road. Jesus is truth. All else is false.

Thought for the Day: (To recall your meditation.)

Only Jesus

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Fifth Sunday of Easter

Only Jesus

Why do you want to know more than you need for your eternal salvation? (Jesus) (Diary 224)

Today’s Readings: Master, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip? (John 14)

Prayer Meditation- O Lord, we who spend time with You should know You better by now! We overthink things and give in to analysis paralysis and jump through all these hoops because we think that is what we have to do to know Your Will but all we really need to do is to trust in You! Especially in these days we read all sorts of things trying to figure it all out- the times we are in and what will happen. But there is only one thing to know-that is You Lord and You crucified (1 Corinthians 2:2)   You do not want us to give in to vain curiosity reading and hearing things that only makes us more anxious but to let not our hearts be troubled or afraid because You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life! (John 14). Lord, show us Your Glory- be with us and never leave! That is all we need to know!

SATURDAY, MAY 2, 2026 – MEMORIAL OF SAINT ATHANASIUS, BISHOP AND DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH

SEEING THE FATHER (Jn 14:6-14)

Prayer:

Come, Jesus, help me to know and see the Father.

Imagination:

Jesus teaching at the Last Supper
.

Context:.

In this text, Jesus describes two different periods – the time before the resurrection (when the disciples do not really know Jesus) and the time after he rose (when they did know him).
Philip’s question allows Jesus to expand upon what he has just said.

Gospel text: (Read slowly, possibly aloud)

Thoughts: (Read all. Ponder the ones that attract you.)

  1. Jesus expands his gift.  The disciples will know and see the Father.
  2. Growing excited, Philip blurts out the unthinkable request, “Show us the Father” (whom none have ever seen).
  3. Jesus is disappointed.  The apostles have already experienced the Father when they see Jesus.
  4. This extraordinary blessing began when Mary became the Mother of God.
  5. Philip must do one thing, believe that Jesus is in the Father and the Father is in Jesus.

Affections. (When one touches your heart, use your own words.)

  • Jesus, You are the Father’s only son.
  • When I speak to you, I speak also to the Father.
  • O Jesus, how long you have been with me.
  • Yet, I still do not understand. You and the Father are one.
  • When I see you, Jesus, I see the Father.  When I am close to you, Jesus, I am close to the Father.
  • O Jesus, you and the Father cannot be separated. The Holy Spirit of love binds you together.

Resolutions: (Possibly you might want to make your own.)

+ I will spend this day in Jesus’ presence.
+ During the day, I will say, “Let me see you, Jesus.”

Thought for the Day: (To recall your meditation.)

All In

Memorial of Saint Athanasius

All In

Do you want to continue being an instrument? Do you want to climb with Me the Mount of Calvary, the Golgotha? If so, your place is beside the Mother of Sorrows. The Flame of Love of her heart that she wishes to enkindle on earth through you demands a total commitment on your part.  (Jesus) (March 24, 1963)

Today’s Gospel: For so the Lord has commanded us, I have made you a light to the Gentiles, that you may be an instrument of salvation to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 13)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord Paul and Barnabas and all the Apostles were all in! Being all in is scary- it involves sacrifice and commitment and pushing forward, not looking back. Yet if we climb with You on the road to Calvary, You have promised us every spiritual blessing including Our Mother who is waiting for our fiat to pour out Her Flame of Love on a hurting world! Let us meditate and prepare ourselves to be His instruments!

Do Not Let Your Hearts Be Troubled

Today’s Consuming Fire Meditation- – A Daily Dose of the Flame of Love Diary Served Up with Today’s Scriptures

Friday of the Fourth Week of Easter

Do Not Let Your Hearts Be Troubled

After your death, will abound in the treasures of your heart those who will know, bless and glorify God. God helped you with His boundless grace to have a life filled with treasures. Those who will live after you on earth can draw abundantly from these treasures. They will be able to follow the simple road of your life. By this path, they also can reach Me.” (Jesus) (November 17-18, 1964)

Today’s Readings:

Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? (John 14)

Prayer Meditation: O Lord, You have prepared a place for us with You and the Blessed Mother and all the angels and saints! How could we ever be troubled? You have given us boundless treasures of Grace so that we can follow the simple and narrow road that leads to life. Through our prayers and intercessions and our witness we are also leading others to You ,including our families, even if we do not see any results here on Earth but we will see in Heaven!  We are Your instruments to lead souls to You- nothing we give You, no matter how little and insignificant it may seem, is wasted when united in love to You Jesus!
